I wonder where he is coming from or what the issue is. Would be a big loss -- we are thin enough on the blue line, losing Hammer would be a major blow. And it doesnt help Garth's bargaining power with the request being made public.

Whenever a trade is imminent the player goes to the bench but this has been brewing since before the season started. As much as Garth has been hurt by this news, I still believe or should I say pray he holds some of the cards. Hammer is a legit top 4 Dman going into his prime with a team friendly contract and that has to count for something. It really sucks we are going to lose him after writing that last sentence.

It's tough trying to make a deal when the pool is limited to Western Canadian teams. Seems the alchemy of comparable value deal might have to include more than Hamonic.

A family matter that he holds dear?

Disappointed with Hammer, TBH. If it's family emergency, then take a leave of absence or something. Can't imagine what's so important that he can keep playing, but needs a trade. And Manitoba is just a plane ride away.

Cappy will never make that change. Benched Halak after 1 last night. He'll never make it permanent. That's just how Cappy rolls.

Who's in net tonight? Third game vs Habs already, and haven't played the Rangers once yet.
I think only 4 games vs Rangers this year? Didn't it used to be like 6 or 7?

Hope the Islea can wash off the stink of another disgusting a Jets loss with a big win vs. Montreal tonight.
Doubt it, but I like to dream.

Goalie Thomas Greiss will start for the Islanders after a strong relief effort in New York's 5-3 loss to the Canadiens at Barclays Center on Friday. He made 15 saves on 16 shots over the final two periods after replacing Jaroslav Halak, who allowed three goals on 11 shots in the first.
"Just a coach's decision," Islanders coach Jack Capuano said after the morning skate. "We've got a lot of games coming up here, too. We don't really normally set a schedule moving forward, but next week coming up we have an idea of what we want to do."Z
