Since the Vancouver game to after the Allstar break on February 2, the isles will only have played 2 games in 15 days.
They oughta be well rested for a solid second half run.

Finally the well needed All-Star break. It was refreshing to listen to the Detroit announcers and how they hammered home the point that both of these teams are only a bad week away from being eliminated.
I've never missed this many games so I won't give out any grades.......but damn.......has Strome regressed. He looks like Bailey V2 in the making. Plays like a pussy, and has turned into the ultimate floater. I just hope it's the sophomore slump.
I'm curious what is going too happen if we tank the rest of the year.....then Wang is finally phased out.

Anyone else going crazy at the timeout with 50 seconds left?
We probably lose the game anyway, but Cappy calls timeout after an icing call on Detroit. Chance to get fresh legs on the ice against a tired group for Detroit with a face off in their zone. But Cappy calls timeout -- give the Red Wings on the ice a chance to recover. Wings win the face off, dump the puck down ice and Helm beats the D to the puck to avoid another icing and makes a great centering pass for the empty netter. Game over.
If they don't call the timeout, maybe Helm goes to the bench or can't beat the Isles D (don't remember who it was) to the puck and its another icing. Is it that importan to talk it over with the team when you have a chance to get the guys you want on the ice and the other team can't change. I was furious last night at the stupid TO. Probably much ado about nothing since we probably don't score with the extra man anyway, but sometimes you just need to vent.

I mentioned it in my post above, the Detroit announcers kept bringing it up all game regarding both teams. If this team shits the bed and fails to make the playoffs I could see some big changes next year with the ownership transfer finally out of the way. |

I don't see them failing to make the playoffs, but I do see a 3 or wild card seed, and another first round exit, which means cappy and garf stick around. |

Personally I like Garth, but I fucking hate Cappy and always will. The sad fact is this team has not won a playoff series since 1993. If everyone goes, so be it. |

For what it's worth, that was one of the most enjoyable Allstar games, of any sport, I've seen. Loved the format.
