We can't expect to go into a defensive shell and just survive against these guys. They are too good and too skilled to give them puck possession and play the last 4 minutes in our own end. It was a pretty good effort, but those last 4 minutes were awful. Very frustrating night, we lost control of the series in the last few minutes of regulation and the OT.

Not fer nuthin, I expect more out of Boychuk too. Start playing like a top 2 not a bottom 6.

He's the type of player that always steps it up for the playoffs and for whatever reason(s) he can't do it this year. I don't think we've seen one sizzling blue line shot from him this entire playoffs, something is going on. |

Not fer nuthin, I expect more out of Boychuk too. Start playing like a top 2 not a bottom 6. He has to be playing hurt. He's the type of player that always steps it up for the playoffs and for whatever reason(s) he can't do it this year. I don't think we've seen one sizzling blue line shot from him this entire playoffs, something is going on. Its not just the shot. D zone coverage, turnovers, inability to break out of the zone. Just poor play from him throughout the playoffs. And what a nightmare game DeHaan had last night. Only D-men playing well right now are Hamonic and Leddy. |

As much as last night stings, I still think we can win this series. I expect the Islanders to win Friday night. I expect this series to go 7 games.

Pitt had been playing great down the stretch, and Washington has a history of coming up small in the playoffs. Best thing to happen to Pittsburgh could have been the injury to Fleury. Don't think he would have matched what Murray has done so far. |
