And the inability to clear the zone on multiple chances, all year long, to eventually let in a goal, is fucking maddening.

No fight today. Just an embarrassing way to end the season. The goal in the final minute on Tuesday night absolutely killed this team. Lightning scored 8 of the last 9 goals in the series.
Were some great moments in this season, but hard to reflect on that after the no show today.

They shot their wad in the Florida series. Nothing left for this series, apparently.

In summary, no cup, and another 3 years of Cappy.

and another 3 years of Cappy. Please noooo. It will no doubt be an interesting offseason with the new owners taking over in a couple of months. One can hope.

Nothing much to add here. Very disappointing ending. Clearly the two OT losses at home effectively killed their will. TB has was the NYI need: a killer instinct.
This will be the most important offseason for the team in decades. We will learn a lot very soon about new ownership and their commitment to going for a championship. JT NEEDS help. We lack firepower and will not win a Cup just grinding it out all the time.

We have no clue what this new ownership group will do.

Gotta add some consistent firepower next to JT.
Strome, Nelson. And Bailey have to get their shit together next year, too.

www.cbssports.com/fantasy/hoc...-by-islanders/Sebastian Collberg: Released by Islanders Quote: Collberg was placed on unconditional waivers by New York on Friday. Collberg saw action in just 42 games for AHL Bridgeport Sound this year. In those contests, the winger tallied a mere three goal and seven assists. His release could mark the end of what was expected to be a solid NHL career after being selected in the second round of the 2012 NHL Draft. The 22-year-old was acquired by the Islanders in exchange for Thomas Vanek, a trade that continues to look worse with each passing NHL season. edit: link broken. Other links out there.
