Do you see him being worth the 20th pick? Next two guys on my film list are Spriggs and Murphy and I'll keep updating here. I should be asking you, you are the OL guy around here Coleman looks big and very athletic for his size. He could probably polish up his technique a little bit, however, the kid beat cancer, came back to the football team and is playing himself into the first round possibly. His character is impressive.

I noticed his age and wasn't sure why. I guess I'll give him a pass if it was cancer. I'm trying to work in the Senior Bowl guys before practice starts next week but I'll make an exception and watch him. Report due tomorrow. And welcome back.

I finally watched his Bama and Ole Miss tape from this year. He looks very raw and when you couple that with 24 years old that is a huge obstacle for him. He is slow off the snap, which is odd because he does have very athletic feet, and that is hard to find. He needs too use his arms better to keep the defenders off of him and stop throwing his head into the defender. Those are all correctable mistakes that hopefully he can straighten out at the next level. I see him as more of a guard at the next level with the ability to move out to RT. He does well in run blocking when he gets his meat hooks on you but misses at the second level all to often and seems confused when the other team runs a stunt. He fixates on his pre snap assignment and doesn't make the necessary corrections when they mix it up. I wouldn't touch him in the first two rounds but someone might fall in love with his athletic feet and take him higher.

I have a feeling that Jason Spriggs will be dominating this thread within the next month or so.
I've been watching more and more of him and aside from consistent level of competition, I'm not sure why there's such a gap between him and a guy like Decker.

I must admit that of all the guys I have went through so far I like Decker the best. I'm not even going to bother with Stanley and Tunsil because they will be gone by the time we pick. It will also be great too see both of them and others participate next week. The SB is loaded with Tackles next week.

Spriggs needs MAJOR work in the weight room. For a guy his size he gets no push and plays extremely timid.....where is that nastiness from a 6'7" guy? Consistently misses at the second level which is a huge cause for concern if you plan on pulling and running screens. He does play with good technique, good feet, good hand placement, and is quick off the ball so he can be developed. Unless he steps it up in the next few months I'm thinking a 2nd rounder that can develop with some time. The more I watch of this OT class, the less enthused I am by the day.

That's really how I feel about this whole draft class on the offensive side of the ball. Very underwhelming class with little elite talent and depth. Now had the Jets drafted Gurley and DGB last year instead of Williams and Smith, this team would be SO much better off right now going into this draft. But, whatever, what do we know, right??

I absolutely loved Todd Gurley last yr, but there is no way I was passing up Williams for Gurley . The Talent of Williams is far too great and the career expectations as far as length doesn't even compare.
That said, there is plenty of solid offensive talent in this draft that can set the Jets up for yrs too come. My 1st pick in this draft would probably be 1 of 3 positions (QB, OT or OLB ) depending on where they fall . My 2nd pick would probably be a RB and I have zeroed in on Devontae Booker .

Even if we had selected Lockett instead of Smith we would have been better off. Our special teams would have looked so much better with Lockett as a returner.

Wrong thread Tinstar. This is about Olineman....tell me what you got and why. Love Stanley but we got no chance at him, so why bother.
I am high on Jason Spriggs who I think needs a year in the weight room . Kid has nice feet and is aggressive which works as a detriment to him because he's not strong enough.
I like Taylor Decker but I think he will end up being a better RT . Don't get me wrong, I think he can play on the blind side, but I just don't see him as athletic enough against the quicker edge Rushers.
I like Hawkins who I think is a better fit on the blind side than Decker . The athleticism that I don't see with Decker is there with Hawkins . All these guys need to hit the weight room and get thrown in against Wilkerson and Richardson early and often so they can see what they need to work on.
I really like this kid from Oregon, but his knees scare the heck out of me . Tyler Johnstone's tape against Shilique Calhoun did it for me. That game made me look at Calhoun differently. I now think of him as a 43 DE only. In the Stanford game, he showed a combination of finesse and tenacity that makes for an excellent LT> kid's knees scare the crap out of me thou.
By the way, I think the Kid from Ole Miss and the kid from A&M will be OGs at the next level.
