The two most dangerous drugs in the US are by far alcohol and tobacco, both are legal and my drugs of choice. Marijuana abuse is far less harfmful, and like a glass of wine a day can be beneficial. I think the tax the pot and make the govt. rich is a myth. But then again taxing dope is new and I could be proven wrong, alcohol and tobacco tax surely brings in a wealth of tax. I don't like the idea of legalizing all drugs, but could be easily swayed the other direction because it is obvious that prohibition is not working great. I just have a hard time seeing how making Crack legal will make things better. I would like to see pot at least decriminalized on the federal level at the very least. Pot as cure all is also a myth, but there is no doubt it can and does help some folks and it is fun to smoke recreationaly. I can't speak to the state prisons but federally the prisons are 99% violent felons and not full of folks incarcerated for drug abuse solely. Just saw this... "According to the Colorado Department of Revenue, the state has received nearly $70 million in tax revenue from marijuana from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015, easily beating the nearly $42 million in taxes on alcohol. Colorado also has a unique tax structure that created a marijuana tax holiday as a result of the state raising too much in pot taxes. On September 16th, the state waived tax collection for one day for certain marijuana transactions." Agreed its not a cure all, but I'd give it a shot over addictive opiates any day of the week. Were just finally getting into scientific studies about what it can/cant do. And playing around with different strains. Over its just SO goddamn harmless. No I don't want teens whose brains are fully formed smoking it, but I don't want them drinking either...hows that working out? $70 million, that's legit revenue. I just looked it up and notice a difference between OR an CO laws where as in CO you can cultivate up to six plants in a secure enclosed area and in OR we are allowed up to four plants per household, but we can grow outside. Last month I made my first ever legal Marijuana purchase, the dope ranged between $10 to $18 per gram, I'm not sure how much tax figured into the price. I have to say I was quite impressed in not only the variety of marijuana, but all the other products and variety of ways to ingest it. This spring for fun I am planting 4 plants in the back yard, I am curious if it will smell or otherwise annoy my neighbors.

I have failed miserably over the years trying to grow. ============================================ The main thing is that you have the right strain for outdoor or indoor depending on how you want to grow, after that it's more a less like growing a tomato plant, of course you have to worry about insects, animals, blight and such. Outdoor with the right strain is easiest. Thinking I might plant 6 or eight then weed out the weaklings. I haven't grown any in over 25 years so this could be kind of fun, being it's legal and all. Not sure what I will do with it all if it works out, potentially I could end up with 4 pounds?

I remember hearing on the news and in the paper how the the US was spraying pot fields in Mexico with Paraguat (?). Maybe in CA and OR also?
Don't think it killed anyone.

Good. They are going to need that revenue to house all those homeless people.

Devils Advocate: 88,000 deaths per year are cause by alcohol. ok, counselor. (stipulating amended numbers) What is the ratio at which the govt. has a moral duty to start killing off their citizens? another question: what was the population of the US during prohibition?
