My picks for the niners: 1 Jared Goff QB California 2 Jarran Reed DT Alabama 3 Nick Vannett TE Ohio State 4 Leonte Carroo WR Rutgers 4 Victor Ochi OLB Stony Brook 4 Jonathan Williams RB Arkansas 5 Moritz Boehringer WR German Football League 6 Elijah Shumate S Notre Dame 6 Joe Thuney OG NC State Nice job. I need too watch some tape of the Shumate guy, seems like a guy that would fit our D. Yeah thanks. I think the Niners would be happy with that haul. I traded 4 picks to Beerfish to draft Ochi. I'm intrigued by him... maybe a Jet? He's visiting them I believe today.

Love the Ryan O'Malley pick, heymangold. Georgia was grad school for me, but Penn was undergrad -- don't get to talk Penn Quaker football very much on this site.

O'Malley seems to be a solid 7th round pick. great size and decent 40 time. Giants could use a good TE

The Miami Dolphins War Room:
Mike Tannenbaum had identified a few key needs for the Phins and feels he addressed them in the draft. The Phins tried very hard to trade up in the 1st round to get Ezekiel Elliot and came close but it was not too be. Tanny got into a bit of a beef with another GM in regards to the Elliot trade proposals but put the issue behind him.
1-13 Kevin Dodd - DE - Clemson Losing Oliver Vernon to FA and having an older and injured cast of DE's the Phins were happy to take the Clemson prospect here.
After failing to get Elliot the Phins did the next best thing in their minds by trading 2-42 and 3-73 to San Diego for 2-35 so they could draft Derrick Henry - RB - Alabama. They feel they now the work horse back to take some pressure of their QB. They don't want him throwing the ball 45 times a game.
In the 4th round the Phins decided to gamble with a high risk high reward prospect, that being Rashard Robinson - CB - LSU
The Phins were then offered a deal for their 4-107 pick by San Francisco for two 5th rounders and two 6th rounders which they accepted.
In the 5th round the Phins took John Theus - OT - Georgia, Matt Judon - DE - Grand Valley State and Ben Braunecker - TE - Harvard
In the 6th round the Phins took Jacoby Brissett - QB - NC State, Kevin Byard - S - Middle Tennessee and Daniel Braverman - WR - Western Michigan
In the 7th round the Phins took Jared Norris - ILB - Utah and Eric Rawls - CB - Kentucky State
The theme for the later part of their draft was taking small school players who have a chance to be great value if they pan out.
Because the Phins were able to end up with 11 picks they double dipped on a couple of positions such as DE and CB which often van be a good insulater against busts.
Overall Tannebaum was pleased with their draft.

The Buffalo Bills war room:
There was a constant din of fists pounding on the Buffalo war room door as GM Doug Whaley locked the door after sending Rex Ryan out to get draft day snacks. With Rex safely but not quietly out of the way the Bills prepared for their draft.
In the 1st round the Bills watched as a few players they considered were picked before them. Whaley decided to go for a pass rushing olb in Leonard Floyd - OLB - Georgia. The Bills lost Mario Williams and Gery Hughes underachieved last year, also Hughes has a large contract that the Bills might try and get out from under if he does not produce this next year.
With a surprise pick in the 2nd round the Bills chose Connor Cook - QB - MSU. Tyrod Taylor had a fine 1st year for the Bills but he is a running QB and in many cases those type of QB's get figured out. Also there is already rumblings that he is looking for a huge deal. With no viable Qb's behind Taylor the Bills took a guy who at least has starter potential.
In the 3rd round the Bills decided to add a play making TE threat in Austin Hooper - TE - Stanford. Charles Clay was a bit of a disappointment and the Bills feel they need a check down/rd zone target.
In the fourth round the Bills took Roberto Aguayo - PK - FSU and Kolby Listenbee - WR - TCU. Dan Carpenter is a very suspect kicker who missed 6 pats last year. Aguayo is by far the best rated kicker in the draft. Listenbee is a speedster who could end up being a help to Sammy Watkins if he develops.
In round 5 the Bills selected Matt Ionnidis - DT/DE - Temple a player who should be a decent fit as a 3-4 end for the Ryan brothers.
In round 6 the Bills finished off their draft by selecting Brien Boddy-Calhoun - CB - Minnesota and Nile Lawrence-Stample - NT - FSU Rex Ryan has done well with late round NT's and can never have enough corners or so he says.
As the Bills management staff was filing out of the back door of their war room the pounding on the front door had stopped and the following was heard in a hoarse voice. "The Bills select...Seth Ryan..Clemson...Doug? That is my pick for this year.....Doug?...Doug?"
