Looks like April 1 will be the date. 2 weeks from today. I will need one or two volunteers to help me keep the spreadhseet updated and to keep the draft moving along. RobR & jcappy, can I count on you guys to help out? I am going to suggest we start in the afternoon on Friday 4/1. How about if Tennessee and JCappy go on the clock at 4PM ET on 4/1. I will put together the draft spreadsheet in google docs and share the link a couple of days before we get started.

I'll do all I can to help out but I'm worthless when it comes to spreadsheets and computer shit.

One suggestion I have to make this draft move along quicker than last season. I do another mock draft with 32 other owners and the way they do that there is they lay out a schedule like this.
1st pick- 4/1 4pm 2nd pick 4/1 5 pm
And so on. The first pick each day starts at 10 am (except the very first pick) and the last possible pick of that day ends at 10 pm. So in between the hours of 10 pm and 10 am nobody is required to pick. But doing it this way you can basically lay out the entire draft and give each pick a date and time that pick is due. That way an owner knows when he's on the clock and can put it in his schedule that he has to select by a certain time. It eliminates the guessing game and it'll also make sure we're not waiting around for 24 hours waiting for a pick. That was brutal last year. I can set up the format if you would like me to. It really runs very smooth. Just let me know.

It really runs very smooth. Just let me know. I don't see that as necessary, but if other prefer the time slot idea, we can go with that. Last year, we had a 3 hour time limit for each pick, so we never went 24 hours waiting for a pick. I thought we moved at a really good pace, in fact, if you check out last year's thread, we made it through all 7 rounds in two weeks. Started on March 21 and finished up on April 4 -- averaging about 17 or 18 picks per day. I also like the 3 hour time window because it gives you time to reach out to someone to discuss trade. A one hour pre-assigned window might be too limiting for trade discussion. Here is last year's thread -- if you want to take a look at how the draft moved along. newyorkjetshampur.com/thread/2224/hampur-mock-draft-selection-threadI prefer the 3 hour window, but if other prefer the time slots as Choon suggests, I am willing to go with that. Thoughts?

It did move quicker than I thought. I must've been thinking about something else. Sorry. It was fine the way it was.

The Hampur Mock Draft will start on Friday, 4/1 at 4PM ET. Link below is to the google doc that will be used to track the draft. I input the first round picks from Drafttek's mock draft just to give everyone an idea what the sheet will look like once we get started. The drafttek picks will be cleared out on Friday morning before we get started. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/148ash60UGIdT1n3OJdSwaNaHXlHSduhaJiTlDXX-6NE/edit?usp=sharingWanted to get this out a few days in advance to make sure everyone can access the sheet. The player tab is a list of all players available -- special thanks to Beerfish for putting this sheet together. He had provided the player rankings from across 9 sites for about 450 players. I added about another 550 from CBS Sports.com, so there are a total of about 1,000 players in the sheet. The draft is not limited to these players, but with 1,000 prospect listed there should not be many guys selected who are not in the sheet. If you draft someone who is not on the sheet, I will manually add them as the pick is made. Send me a PM if anyone has problems accessing / using the sheet. It is a large file with a lot of links between tabs, so it may take a minute or so to load depending on the speed of your internet connection and/or your computer. Thanks also to RobR and Jcappy for offering to help keep things moving. Couple of thoughts on the draft. We will be doing a full 7 round mock NFL draft. This will likely take about 2 weeks from start to finish. Trades will be allowed, but similar to the NFL rules, compensatory draft picks cannot be traded. Any trades should be submitted by both parties to me and to RobR & Jcappy in order to be finalized. And please, if you have two teams, no trades between your two teams. Each team will have a 3-hour window to make their pick when they are on the clock. The 3-hour window will run between the 8AM and 11PM ET. If you go on the clock at 10PM – you will have until 10AM the next morning to submit your picks. The clock will not reset for the full 3 hours at 8AM. If your pick is coming up and you may not be available, please send 3 – 5 potential picks in order of priority via PM to me and to Rob &/or Jcappy and one of us will make the pick. After you have made your pick, please send PM to the next person advising them that they are on the clock. If you go into your profile, under the notifications tab, you can elect to receive an email when you receive a PM -- this can help to keep things moving more quickly. If you miss a pick, Rob, Cappy &/or I will make the pick for you. If you do miss a pick, please send PM to us letting us know that you intend to continue in the draft. If we do not receive a PM after a missed pick, we will make your next pick as well. This will apply regardless of when your next pick is. If you have consecutive picks and you miss the first, you will not get another 3 hours for the 2nd. Once we make a pick for you, that pick is final as soon as the next drat pick is made. Draft will begin at 4PM ET on Friday afternoon Tennessee (Jcappy) on the clock. Jcappy will have until 7PM to get his pick in.
