You edited your post. I did look and though I can find some leaves that have been chewed on I see no insects, though I understand they can be quite small and realize an out door grow should have it's share of insect and mold problems. Not sure if and what I meed to add to the soil/water as far as minerals, my soil is 50% 5 year old mushroom compost and the rest is the soil I planted in. I got about $40 invested so far and one of my goals is to go cheap and use what I have. I'm not concerned about growing monsters so I feel I should be able to get by with little fertilizer till at least bud?

I'm far from an expert when it comes to gardening but I did take some master gardener classes and am contemplating doing the entire course next year to get certified. I've grown bud in the past but now I stick too vegetables, however my neighbor has a legal indoor grow room and works for a medical grower and knows his shit, as he's been doing it for a long time. I mentioned a product called azomite which provides trace elements that I am sure every soil is lacking. Sometimes it can be hard to find but usually sells for about $40 for 40 lbs. and that will last you a long time. It's also great for vegetables. The large plant also looks like it had chlorosis as you can see the differing color in the veins and leaves. That can be fixed with an iron foliar spray and works well and fast. As for the bugs make sure you check under the leaves, they are never on the top. Most likely you'll have to deal with aphids and mites, something that a simple insecticidal soap will clear up. I'm totally organic with my vegetables and use it as a preventative because those fuckers are always there.

As most of may know it is now legal to grow up to 4 pot plants per household in Oregon now for personal use. As a casual pot smoker I found the idea of growing pot in my back yard intriguing and,,, and hard to believe,, definitely a trip considering where I come from and the stigma pot has carried pretty much my whole life. So I figured why not? I have concerns about creating a nuisance for my neighbors, mainly that pot smells, and if my neighbors voice any sort of loud objection I will most likely pull and toss the plants. One of my goals besides being discreet is to do this with the least amount of dollars invested as possible thus the no greenhouse or indoor grow. I have decided to create a thread to document my experiences growing the Devils Weed and plan to post bi weekly updates so as to share with you lumps You can buy cloned pot plant starts at publicly owned Marijuana Dispensaries for $20 a pop. I however know "a guy" and went and saw him today and he gifted me 4 starts. [img src=" farm8.staticflickr.com/7406/27115517221_83a05d6121_k.jpg" src="" alt="" style="max-width:100%;"] These are what you call hybrids, part sentiva and part indica, the smallest being a seed start, and the others were cloned from a mother plant. The largest is root bound and I plan to plant it in a hole in my back yard tomorrow after adding some amendments to the soil, the other three I put in larger pots earlier today as they were also root bound and will plant them in the back yard in a week. So I am starting with 4 different strains that I know little about except there names and that they are "stoney as hell" Biggest is Blue Kush, then we have Pineapple Train Wreck (the seed start), Agent Orange, and Blue Dream. Largest plant....at the front of the plant. That is chlorosis and suggests an iron deficiency.

3 weeks. The garden which also has a Roma tomatoe, a couple of peppers, some mint in a planter and a Tomatilio (sp?)plant. I have tomatoe cages for disguise around 2 of the pot plants. Blue Dream 2 weeks in ground, 3 weeks in sun. Pineapple Train 2 weeks in ground 3 weeks in sun. Agent Orange 2 weeks in ground 3 weeks in sun Pictured with Ned the Shithead, he has pruned the plant twice eating about a 1/3 of it, Thus the little green fence. Blue Kush 3 weeks in ground, 4 weeks in sun. This was originally the biggest plant, it was also a mother plant that had 100's of clones taken from it, so it is a old plant. It has been stressed with the heat wave we had (100 degrees) and it gets the most sun, I believe that is why the leaves have curled, but the heat is a week removed and it is not bouncing back so great. I have high hopes for this plant as my guy valued it enough to take so many cuttings from it. So far not a peep from the neighbors although I suspect they are aware as the fence is dried up now and has gaps between the boards, so no drama there. I have decided to post less on this thread, monthly or so rather then bi weekly, unless there is a request.

I have spent a lot of time in gardens from a young age and learnt that some things do great for some plants but don't know why. I only do tomatoes and herbs anymore, easy stuff like rhubarb and horse radish, roses, etc also. I'll look into Azomite and iron spray.

The plants look pretty good, you might want too look into topping them, especially the smaller ones for a better yield and it will also keep them shorter. Once they start flowering look into training them down.....you basically spread(pull down) the branches out with twine and it will keep the plants shorter and you'll grow bigger buds. The leaf curl on the big plant could be from a multitude of problems, heat, wind, overwatering, general shock. I'd also pull some of the deader leaves off of the bottom on the big plant. They serve no purpose, take away nutrients, and are an invitation for bugs.
After the recent pics it doesn't look like an iron problem, and azomite kicks ass for every plant.

looking good. foliar spray with neem oil will open those leaves up, and they'll collect more sun. good protection from bugs too. still organic.

Blue kush looking like it will have largest yield. Pineapple needs to be nurtured to yield as much as possible from that strain, it's crazy good. Do some topping or whatever you need to get it to make the biggest buds you can. They look good!

looking good. foliar spray with neem oil will open those leaves up, and they'll collect more sun. good protection from bugs too. still organic. ===================================== What be foliar spray? I do have some neem oil in my Amazon Que. So far all I've done is dig holes 40" round or so round by 16" deep and mixed in some good potting mix with the existing soil, also added 3/4 cup of Osmocote per hole, then planted. A month later I got some Azomite (volcanic ash) and spread that around the plant and raked it in a bit, and I have been trying to water that in. Over all I am pleased with the results, some insect damage but very minor and a buddy gave me a unknown substance from his grower sopone that's suppose to control insects that I sprayed on once about 2 weeks ago. The Blue Kush finally seems to be coming around after I began watering the hell out of it and after the Azomite. Group shot of the garden. Ned has stopped chewing on Agent Orange for the most part. Blue Dream looks like it might get 8' tall, going to have to control that somehow, first though is to weight down the branches or just keep it cut to a reasonable size. Was windy last Saturday and a large branch broke partially off at the stem, so I put a couplke tomato cages around it to help support it and just kinda lifted the broken branch onto the cage and the branch seems to be showing no ill effect. Not sure if I should get proactive and remove the broken branch, but for now I am having fun just watching to see how it heals. Broken branch pictured, the lowest branch right in front. Blue Kush coming out of stress and showing a growth spurt, also recently caged. Pineapple Train is the smallest but just looks so nice, dark green big leaves and all. And then I was given these seed starts of an unknown strain and decided to leave them in planters as likely as not they will be males and want to be able to move them away from the clones as needed, I don't need these 2 but what the heck I am having fun and still legal as there is no limit on immature plants. They are a bit yellow which I think is due to over watering so I am going to chill on the water, I also just transplanted one into a larger container this morning as they are root bound and will see how that goes before transpolanting the other one. I have bought some. Azomite. Good potting soil. A PH stick which shows all the plant soil at 6.5, got lucky I guess. A moisture reader. 17 gallon tote for a planter. Wire fencing to keep Ned out. Tomato cages x 4. Then some garden supplies that I had on hand such as the Ozmocote, soil, planters, garden tools, etc. Total investment about $125 to date. This has turned out to be more fun then I expected, and a side benifit is my whole yard looks better then it has in years due to the extra time I am spending in it. Always open to advice and or criticisms. Or pictures of your gardens?

I am only allowed to keep 8 ounces of consumable pot by law at a time. So my plan is to stagger my harvest and make friends and family happy, we'll see how it goes. Catch a bus west in a few months and I will hook you up.

Looking real good. Foliar spray is when you spray the leaves. Just buy a cheap pressurized spray container and that will work great for foliar feeding, spraying insecticidal soap, and neem oil. I've never heard of using neem oil too open the leaves, it's an insecticide, maybe Freestater can elaborate. TBH you probably don't even need anything at this point by looking at them, they look much healthier than when you first posted.
At this stage make sure you don't use a fertilizer high in Nitrogen(the first number in the analysis on a bag). If anything you might want to go with a higher phosphorous based fert (middle number) to encourage flowering. Too keep the plant from getting too tall start training the branches down. A little string and some tent stakes does the trick for only a few bucks and will yield bigger buds.
Good luck keeping that to 8 oz. You're probably looking at more like 2lbs. cured and since they are outdoors you will have no control over when they get harvested. They will probably all be ready around the same time.
Edit: Forgot to add, props on getting the azomite. That shit works great and 40lbs. goes a long way.
