Gee I wonder what kind of world we would be living in if we didn't invade Iraq? We are fighting an ideology and yet Americans kill other Americans daily without claiming it to be done on the behalf of ISIS. We are a violent nation and we have the stats to prove it. News flash. We already racial profile. It is literally a law enforcement and intelligence tactic. And our government also kills innocent civilians in other countries. All done under Barry and Hillary's watch. How do we sleep at night? Trump says some mean things. Hillary has done a lot of awful things. You realize Hillary Clinton has been intimately involved in our foreign policy for the past 16 years. How has that been working out? This is what we need another 8 years of: www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2016/06/19/lynch_partial_transcript_of_orlando_911_calls_will_have_references_to_isis_cut_out.htmlLynch: "Partial Transcript" Of Orlando 911 Calls Will Have References To Islamic Terrorism Removedand your point is? hillarity and all of the idiots in the demotardic party also backed the invasion of iraq. and so were the idiots at the ny times ike tom friedman. clinton's cia director said the wmd's were a slam dunk. if you want to do the what ifs make sure you know the facts and are honest in your opinion.

Most mass killings in US are by white guys. Can we profile them? First, only one of the last 4 mass shooters was white. Second, in a country where the majority is white, that would make statistical sense no? Vs where blacks commit over 1/2 of violent crimes in a country where they represent 18% of the population.

Most mass killings in US are by white guys. Can we profile them? We already do and should continue to. And because we compile that data we also know that mass shootings only account for less than 2% of the gun deaths in this nation per year. In fact, most gun violence is committed by non-whites in overwhelmingly Democratic precincts with the toughest gun laws in the country. Numbers are scary things. Maybe that is why we have colleges removing Math from their core requirements and replacing it with diversity studies www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/detroit/2016/06/12/wayne-state-drops-math-general-ed-requirement/85648592/What a world.

I dont know that theres one answer... crime rates being roughly equal, the US does have many more gun deaths. Is it the unique gun culture America has as a relatively younger country? Is it simply that more guns in the US means more potential for crime/violence to be executed with a gun vs some other implement? Is it that other countries can be almost draconian in their gun policies? Or some combination of it all? Mass shootings get the attention, but 98% of the gun deaths are every day disputes, robberies, suicides, etc. And for many of the illegal activities leading to gun deaths, playing devils advocate, will better background checks really make a dent?

Right, bad guys will always get guns. Truth is, if you want to shoot someone, you can, easily. We just seem to do it alot more often that other countries. Im all for 2nd amendment. Screwing with that isn't the answer. And banning certain guns wont make a dent either. Is the something inherently more violent about us? I really don't get it.

When you look at Murder rate per million people per country the US is at #99 out of 193 countries in 2010 with 42.01 homicides per million people. So while we rank pretty high and I think #1 in developed countries with gun deaths we are middle of the pack is homicides. Granted there are a lot of backwaters on the list above and below us, but you will see that we aren't close to the top and when you are being killed does the method really matter unless your only goal is to get rid of guns? So the short answer is, no, we are no more violent than anyone else and the more important thing is we are improving. Remove the big liberal cities out of the data and we would probably be much lower. Perhaps that can tell us something. www.nationmaster.com/country-info/stats/Crime/Violent-crime/Murder-rate-per-million-people

Looking at that list, Id say most of the 98 countries ahead of us, minus Russia and a couple others, are pretty much backwaters where most of us wouldn't want to live. Some nice places to visit, but... I mean, Jamaica is #4... when I went there, I was cautioned to not leave the resort alone!
Cherry picking "like, first world countries" I think FF2's question would be, why is the US rate twice or more what it is in Finland, Canada, Ireland, GB, Hungary, Belgium, France, and most of the rest of Europe? We're at least twice as violent as them apparently?

Is a law gonna make you feel better? If we made laws to make people feel better than we would need to build more prisons to house the offenders. And, as you know, we already house the most in the world. We have more gun deaths because we have more guns and angry people. But its not those evil looking "assault rifles" that are killing people, its the handguns. Those highly regulated, often illegally-used handguns. Then there is also the gang/drug culture that goes hand-in-hand with all this but nobody cares about that. Children and gays dying is much more sexy. If the media harped on the minority-on-minority gun deaths that occur in the inner cities with a tenth of the intensity they do about the mass shootings with "assault rifles" you would probably be more outraged about that.
