So what exactly is goin on? Is this shit like a civilian civil war? What's goin on in inner cities and is it race related most of the time? What are they doin that the the general population feels their only option is to carry a gun? My sister is married to an american but they live here, I have family in Washington but have never discussed this shit with them although I know the Washington sniper shit deeply affected them. From the outside lookin in perspective I look at cops gettin shot by snipers and innocent people getting killed in routine traffic stops, fuckin 4 year old kids gettin their school shot up and it just doesn't seem right in the eyes of the free world or a solution to the problem I personally couldn't live in a society where the welfare of myself and my family was at risk because you might happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and get whacked over something so stupid. I mean, what happens when guns so easily available get into the hands of the mentally ill or terrorist? Well I guess we are finding out. I know guns are stitched into the fabric of american culture and I know first hand the power a gun gives the shooter, but there's no mention of inner city warfare in the mainstream media, all we are seeing is power pissed cops shooting innocent people and general public retaliating popping of cops, I mean this shit just isn't normal. I just hope all you bitches on here stay safe mms and don't get caught up in this shit one day. Harrier - it's certainly not as bad as it looks. The media does fan the flames and every shooting is amplified. But, it does seem like it is happening more and more. That being said, I live in NYC and Ft. Lauderdale and never ever fear that I may got popped walking down the street no matter where I am (and, some of the neighborhoods in Ft. Lauderdale are worse than NYC). These mass shootings are still rare occurances for the most part. It's safe here man. Except it's very very dangerous at Jets games. All the issues that everyone is speaking about in this thread converges at Jets games - lower class, poor, uneducated, gun loving, racists, muslims, white supremists, cracker cops, drunk micks (especially when Fitz is there), gays, dykes, ex-convicts, rapists, escaped convicts - these are the core Jets fans. And, these are the lovely people who attend Jets games at Met Death. If you want to see a post apocolyptic world (like Mad Max) attend a Jets game. Scary scary stuff. But, as long as you steer clear of Jets games and Jets fans, then America is still a beautiful, peaceful, loving place. Lol you crack me up man. From reading this thread I'm getting undertones it's those black guys fault but people are to PC to just say it. One day you are gonna shoot up the Jets facility dude I can see it comin. What's gun violence like in Nome?

Honestly I dont know if you're arguing for or against guns based on this response. What is your definition of "everyday cop"? I will have you know that are "beat officers" which I think is what you mean by that are now trained during active shooter situations to not wait for backup. Time taken = more casualties. They are taught to go in and engage if need be in order to save as many lives as possible. Would you have them spray them with pepper? I know I have said this before but this Police Chief, David Brown, is just exceptional. The transparency he has given us is something our government officials can learn from. We need to know who these people are and why they do these things. We dont need to scrub their statements like what happened in Orlando. Sorry dude I typed that out quick. I've explained this in another post, but here civilians are not armed so your everyday traffic stopping beat police officer has no reason to be. If we have a terrorist attack or illegal weapon handling nut, then there are armed specialised tactical police units trained to deal with those circumstances should they arise, but you barley ever see them. We have an estimated 300 million guns that are not going to go away because someone passes a law. Our situation is very different. Also, the overwhelming majority of our gun crimes are committed with handguns and they are already illegal in many jurisdictions. We have specialized units as well but because we have learned that time is very crucial in these events we have our "everyday cops" respond first. I know we have cops that are members of this site that can speak to this better than I can but this is just something that I have learned from watching the coverage of these events and listening to the LEOs the news stations bring in as analysts. We are being dishonest if we blame this on guns. Sure, they are an issue but they are nothing in comparison to the real issues that caused what happened. Guns are a convenient scapegoat bc frankly people dont like to admit to the real issues bc we are in denial that they exist.

Getting rid of guns doesn't stop violence
I could take some empty water bottles, add in a little bleach and ammonia from under the kitchen sink and start lobbing fucking mustard gas all over town if I really wanted.
There are fucked up, evil people in the world. That's never going to change.

What's gun violence like in Nome? I honestly don't know who's fault it is. Each situation is different, but the media does love to play up the "rasicst KKK member white cop kills innocent black unarmed A+ medical school student". When the cop choked the black guy in SI last year for selling cigarettes, I got into an argument with a black guy I work with who used to be a cop - I was taking the side of the guy who got choked and he was taking the cop's side. I honestly do not see it as a racial thing. It could be a power mad cop (as was South Carolina last year) or a bad dude attacking a cop (Fergusen). Some of the cops have been black that have killed other blacks (Baltimore). BUT, the media makes it out to be white vs. black. I don't think it is. I would never shoot up the Jets facility though. I just don't care about them and wouldn't waste my time. Maybe when they move to Nome a polar bear (or better yet, multiple polar bearS) will maul the Jets facility. I wouldn't mind that. Speaking of Nome and your question on gun violence - I just learned it's the State where you are MOST likely to be killed by gun violence: www.businessinsider.com/the-state-where-youre-most-likely-to-be-killed-by-a-gun-is-one-of-the-most-beautiful-places-on-earth-2015-6

RIP to those officers. Thoughts and prayers with the families of all the victims Lets be honest. Who hasnt seen something like this coming from a mile away? Our leadership at the local, state and federal levels have failed all of us. Rather than address the concerns of people by educating them on the issues and due process they use everything for political gain and just fan the flames. The bodies are still warm and gun control politics is already being hinted at as if that is the real issue here. The people that did this want anarchy and we are making it easy on them. when the libtards want to have an honest debate on the subject of gun control i will listen. we have obozo spewing about selfies taking more lives than terror acts here. obozo and other spew about outlawing "assault" guns when those types only account for a few % of the total. and obozo spews about how much he cares when there are 20 vets per day going suicidal. not to mention the whole unresolved mess at the va. as for the dallas issue, the shooters ahd bullet proof vests. need i say that normal people are restricte from buying these. and then , of course , we have obozo not realizing that isis is part of islam. as a matter of fact so our the taliban yet just yesterday he chose to increase troop levels in afghanistan by 60%. i'm stopping now because the next topic is hillarity.

Ok - my 2 cents of guns - either everyone has them or no one has them.
And when I say everyone, I mean everyone. Children, criminals, pets, elderly, you name it, everyone gets a gun.

I dont think you'll have an honest "debate" (if you truly want want one) when you call them "libtard"s and "obozo." Like it or not all sides have to live together. At some point we will have to figure it out together.
