Ok - my 2 cents of guns - either everyone has them or no one has them. And when I say everyone, I mean everyone. Children, criminals, pets, elderly, you name it, everyone gets a gun. Where is Oprah when you need her! and it will be mandatory that everyone carry at all times for this to work properly.

Yeah I refuse to believe that. Whats a lower class race? Uneducated people in general are more prone to violence. This is very true. Education is the most important thing that will raise you up. America gives everyone a chance to get educated. If you are poor there are a lot of FREE ways to go to college but so many people don't take advantage of the FREE school you get from Pre-K through 12 let alone college. Almost everyone in America has access to the internet also but most use it to watch porn, play games or watch tv shows rather than taking advantage of the FREE education on sites such as Khan Academy and other similar sites. If you don't have internet access in your home you can get it at school or at the public library. So many of us sit in FREE classes until we are 18 and do everything we can to NOT learn rather than take advantage of this gift from society. This is the result of poor parenting and an entitlement attitude. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. Is it the easy way? Absolutely not, but education is the only way to raise yourself up whether you are learning a trade, skill or going to college. Any other path is a request for a hard and dangerous life. Crime might get you there temporarily but you will lose in the end. Really? Who offers free pre-k? A democratic ny mayor is fighting a democratic governor to get it in NYC. You should try getting on the Internet at the library to see what it's like. And not in a white suburb, either

Why can't murica be like all other civilised advanced nations? No armed civilians. No armed cawps. The only ones armed are the military and specialist police units to deal with extreme circumstances like terrorist threats etc Me and duke go out and don't need to worry if the cawps pull us over because neither of us is armed, I can protect myself against civilians using my fists or whatever. No one is losing their life over a busted tail light or scared to send their kids to school. Gun crime does happen here, infact Manchester used to be nicknamed "Gunchester" because of gang shootings, however they are few and far between because gun control is so tight. I have NEVER feared for my life when pulled over by a cop. I don't argue with them, keep my hands where they can be seen, listen and follow directions. Then we both go our separate ways. Are there some exceptions to this rule? I am sure there are but they are VERY few and far between. You look at most of the death by cop shootings and they are people grandstanding who are actually physically fighting with the cop. Yes, right now the Philando Castile shooting looks bad for the cop and probably is but doesn't anyone understand that if you make the cops lives harder and make them fear for their lives they will be MORE likely to shoot first and ask questions later? Put yourself in their shoes. Follow the law, respect others property and person and guess what, there is a 99.999999999% chance you will not have a problem with a cop. Carry an illegal weapon, threaten or fight people, be belligerent with a cop when they show up and YOU are putting your life on the line. This isn't a video game, there are no extra lives when you fuck up. I love hearing white people talk about how unafraid they are when pulled over by the police. Castile was told to give his ID and when he reached for it was shot five times. The police obviously did not frisk Sterling properly, they didn't see a gun, they tackled him to the ground pinned his limbs and then shot him to death. As they started to tackle him he asked what he had done , then he was dead. What exactly were these people supposed to do differently to avoid being killed

I'm white I still get a raised heart rate when pulled over, due to a partially misspent youth I suppose. My parents taught me to respect the police and their authority. Tips to surviving police encounters. Pull over as soon as safely possible when lit up. Keep hands on steering wheel, don't be demonstrative or move around Roll down window at least 1/2 way. Don't be moving around prior to being approached so as the popo doesn't think your trying to hide something or grab a weapon. Be respectful and follow all commands. I've been stopped/question by the police at least 25 times and I am still alive.

You should try getting on the Internet at the library to see what it's like I cant believe you are about to make me defend Cuomo but unlike DeBlasshole and politicians in Washington Cuomo actually has a budget he has to worry about. State's budgets must be balanced unlike the feds who can just print money or borrow it. BTW I am for universal Pre-K and breakfast in schools. Sad thing is even kids that come from two parent homes often go to school without having breakfast, are hungry and cant focus properly because of it.

What exactly were these people supposed to do differently to avoid being killed Frankly we dont know what was said to Castille. All we have is his girlfriend's version of the events. The video starts after he has already been shot. We dont know if they officer told him not to move his hands after he disclosed he had a gun. We may end up with audio of it bc I have a feeling she was recording before he was shot and decided to start livestreaming afterwards. The other case will come down to if Sterling was or wasnt able to reach the gun in his pocket. Did he free one of his hands and go for it? That is what they will argue.

BNot taking a stand on the issue (though I personally do not think I should have to pay for other people's children to attend Pre-k), I want to know where this "free Pre-k" is happening (not in Scandinavia) since EVEN in the most liberal/democratic city and state in the country it has been a struggle to pass it

My elementary school offered it. Granted the town I grew up in had some pretty heft property taxes so I can't claim it was "free". I dont ever use what goes on in other countries, especially Scandanavia when discussing our issues. I think people that try to make comparisons and tell us to be more like them are lying to themselves. We are in completely different situations and play different roles in the world.

I cant even begin to address the inaccuracies, the falsehoods and assumptions...nor do I care to at this point. Astounding.

Speaking of that I've not seen anywhere the fact you reported that the "passenger" reached for their ID. I did read though that she was cuffed detained separated from her child and jailed until taken home at 3am
