Those sheiks will be selling colored sand in a bottle for revenue in 5 years.

Great article. Thanks for sharing.
"This is a cold douche for Opec. It has been an article of faith among Gulf exporters that hedging contracts had kept US shale companies on life-support and that there would be a brutal cull as these expired in the first half of this year.
No such Gotterdamerung has occurred. A few over-leveraged players have gone bankrupt, but Blackstone, Carlyle and other private equity groups are waiting on the sidelines to buy distressed assets and take over the infrastructure."
Love that first sentence.

Too bad its the production on private lands that is driving this. Either way it is nice to beat the Gulf states at their own game. Never understood why we were so dependent on them and allowed the world to be dependent on them until I saw just how much money they donate to our politicians.

Guess I should have put a little a sarcastic smilie face there. I know you were being funny. I'm just trying to educate the hampurites who don't frequent the political forum. Consider it my good deed for the day.

While thats good, I think its ridiculous we are still relying on internal combustion engines. What an outdated technology.

What an outdated technology. ======================================================== I'm as excited about the advances in electric cars as the next guy I don't think hydrogen fuel cells will ever take off. As it sits ICE are king and will be for the foreseeable future. Things like electric long haul trucks are still just a dream, electric passenger planes aren't happening, if you lose power in a storm you still have no choice but a ICE generator. Perhaps I misunderstand the context of your post as there was no smiley included?

Batteries are what's holding it back.

Im just disappointed that we've been talking about alternative to the ICE for about 40 years at least. If you look at the technology advances is other areas its sad we aren't there yet for transportation. For a cares we put all the money into gadgets and gizmos, but never addressed the basics. I know big oil and the auto manufacturers made it hard in the early days but still, we could have done so much better. Instead we put computers on top of ICEs. What a farce. But hey...look at the emojis on my phone!
