I would detest that pick. I wouldn't be totally against it If the Jets are picking Top 5 and can't get out of that spot then to me it has to either be Fournette or a defensive player. The chances of Garrett are slim to none, so then guys like Adams, Peppers and Foster enter the discussion. Coupled with Lee he would give the Jets a pair of young, incredibly talented sideline to sideline players in the LB corps for the next decade potentially. If Fournette and Garrett are gone, I'll take Barnett or Tabor. No safety or ILB for me at pick 5.

No safety or ILB for me at pick 5. Could you imagine going ILB two years in a row in the first round, with one being a possible top 5 pick? I would fire Macc on the spot.

Right now I think I want to go LT with the 1st pick and I further think that to do so we will need to trade down. I also have no interest in Cam Robinson

I also have no interest in Cam Robinson I know you like the OT's as much as I do, so start throwing some names out there. I did a few film breakdowns earlier in this thread....any thoughts?

A major part of the reason we are in this current predicament is allocating too many resources at DT. We cannot repeat the mistake at ILB. Don't get me wrong, Darron Lee seems like he will develop into a nice player. But he isn't Patrick Willis and I'm fairly confident he never will be. Has Lee really made a bigger impact than Deion Jones or Blake Martinez, who were drafted afterwards?

I prefer to scout QBs as I have stated, but all these guys are terrible IMHO . As far as the OTs are concern, I have a few listed as Left and Right ;
Left tackle candidates :
Ryan Ramczyk, OT from Wisconsin : Strong at the POA in the run game while adequate against the pass . Speed rushers can be a problem due to his lack of athletic ability but the players know how to stay in front of his man and how to attack stunts . He's a better left tackle candidate than folks are giving him credit .
Chad Wheeler, OT from USC who is all athlete, with not as much functional strength as Ramczyk . He might be the best LT candidate available due to his experience on the big stage and his lateral quickness . His size and off the field might be his only issues going forward .
Avery Gennesy, OT from A&M is the next in line of quick OTs who will bring his athletic ability to the NFL stage . Right now, he's more athlete than football player, but appears to be a quick study . a yr in an NFL strength and conditioning program and you might have yourself an ALL pro LT .
RT candidates :
Cam Robinson, OT from Bama is an interesting player. IMO, he's strong at the POA in the run game and decent as a pass blocker. Here's where I see the problem. While athletic, he's slow to react from the snap which makes him a liability against speed rushers . His strength combined with his athletic ability is why I put him in the RT category instead of moving him inside to LG . He's your typical Bama Player who excels because of game planning and coaching instead of hard work . It's almost like Bama players have never seen a weight room .

Elliot (for obvious reasons), regardless of where they picked... Yes, RB is a position that is difficult to make generalisations about across other positions... Or not. In line with what maury77 is intimating, there comes a point where the talent infusion simply does not yield a difference in production (or WINS for that matter)... If DAL selected Fournette for example this next draft -- would we really expect to see the best rushing attack in the league make a pronounced leap? Would it even matter? Can't keep taking the Leos of the league because BPA is the only mindless strategy to subscribe to.

Just got done with Roderick Johnson out of FSU against Fl tape. I came away with mixed feelings about him but in the overall picture I like him. He's definitely a LT at the next level and moves rather well. What's killing it for me is his lack of functional strength, which can be corrected. I also don't see that mean streak, play to the whistle in him and i'm not sure if he can ever get that, although Brick never had it and he had a nice career. I'd give him a 2nd round grade off of that one film and when he adds some strength he should be a player. His body frame also looks good for a LT, nice long arms. I wouldn't be surprised if he moves up come draft day because of his length and his age(just turned 21 a few weeks ago).
Also wanted to add that I love Cook. He was crazy good in that game, just a natural.

A new offensive tackle prospect courtesy of Tony Pauline is Antonio Garcia from Troy: Watched the App game and wasn't impressed. Watched the Clemson game and saw what people are excited about . Kid plays to the whistle and sometimes beyond .

Tough to read stuff like this and not wonder if i'm over thinking the whole Fournette thing. Add to that the unflattering news coming out about Cook. Here was the blurb from Walterfootball. The combine interviews and pre-draft visits are going to be very important for Dalvin Cook. There are some minor off-the-field concerns regarding Cook; not so much with his character, but the company he keeps. Cook is said to have an entourage that has some real thugs. These friends have teams worried that it could be dangerous for Cook to continue hanging around them. Teams are concerned that Cook drinks a heavy amount and could have some challenges with his focus from having multiple kids with multiple women. They think that leaving the state of Florida would be good for Cook's long-term career and could help him to focus on becoming a professional. However, some team sources are worried the entourage will follow Cook wherever he goes, as that was the case at Florida State. Thus, it would help Cook to go to a team with established leadership in the locker room that can help steer him in the right direction.
