Terrible deal. I thought they were supposed to take Kulemin and his salary as well, Berube costed peanuts and was easily waived . I'm so glad Garth threw in a second too sweeten the deal.

Im looking at it as a 1st rounder in a fairly mediocre draft, to ensure that all of our trade able assets stayed here. Berube was gone anyway, hes an UFA.
Hearing lots of twitter rumors that Garth is looking to deal. What if after some moves, we're looking at F lines of:
Lee-Tavares-Eberle or Oshie Ladd-Duchene-Ho Sang Beauvillier-Barzal-Bailey Chimera-Czikas-Clutterbuck?
The downside is that you're probably giving up Hamonic plus the young forwards that the 1st rounder protected, but how long do we wait for those guys?
The D then probably looks like:
Leddy/Boychuk/DeHaan/Hickey/Seidenberg/Pelech/Pulock
Just thinking out loud.

IMO, seems like they gave up a lot to protect zeeker and CdH. I think Grabo and a first for VGK to take Nelson, Strome, or Bailey would have been fair

If Garth can use the assets he protected (at a significant cost) to build a team like you have listed -- adding a couple of top 6 forwards, and extending JT. Then it could all work out -- I am not filled with confidence in Garth based on his track record, but for now, I can wait and see how the offseason plays out.

Strome even up for Eberle? Wow, great deal if that is it.

I think Grabo and a first for VGK to take Nelson, Strome, or Bailey would have been fair I get your point, but I think some of those assets (Strome, DeHaan, Nelson, etc.) are in play for potential trades. Im waiting to see what happens between yesterday and July 1 to judge... we're been rebuilding for what seems like forever. Another 1st rounder in a weak draft isnt a killer, and maybe they can turn some of their protected assets into real top 6 forwards, which will help retain JT. Already hearing Eberle may be a done deal. If Snow did nothing else but yesterday, fair game to crucify him. Fingers crossed.

Folks say Eberle disappeared in the playoffs... but at least he'll help maybe GET us to the playoffs. Which Strome wasnt doing.

So now Chiarelli has given the Islanders Boychuk for picks, picks for Reinhart that became Barzal and Beauvillier, and Eberle for Strome.
Gotta love Chia.

Latest rumor seems to be Colorado wants Hamonic, Barzal and Dal Colle for Duchene. If they could somehow swap out Barzal, I pull the trigger on that.

Strome even up for Eberle? Wow, great deal if that is it. I think this may wind up being a win-win for both teams. Isles get a much needed top 6 RW and Strome may rebound out in Edmonton.

I don't know much about Eb. I heard he's a Brock Nelson with a higher salary. Heard his numbers really dwindled. Like Strome.
Agree with Lith, probably good for both teams. Each player gets a fresh start.

Not to be overlooked as well... Eberle and Tavares are buds, from what I hear. That cant hurt.
