I just really want to see what this team could do with a fully healthy rotation. Noah, deGrom, Matz, Harvey, etc.....just stay healthy for one full season. Put Colon in the bullpen. Find out if this Gsellman is the real deal.
Ugh. 5 more months until pitchers and catchers report.

I just really want to see what this team could do with a fully healthy rotation. Noah, deGrom, Matz, Harvey, etc.....just stay healthy for one full season. Put Colon in the bullpen. Find out if this Gsellman is the real deal. Ugh. 5 more months until pitchers and catchers report. But with the number of guys they will have coming off of surgeries next season, I am not sure how realistic that is. But it is good to know that guys like Lugo and Gsellman can hold their own if needed. I would also like to see them bring in some table setters who can help manufacture runs. It is awfully tough to beat good pitchers (like Bumgarner) when you can't manufacture a run or two. |

162 games of work just to get the privilege of hosting the Wild Card game....and Familia puts a ball on a tee in the 9th. FML. Kind of dumb to let a 162 game season come down to 1 game. Would rather it be a 3-game-series myself. That way, the team that wins will be the better team of that series overall and not because they just happen to have a red-hot pitcher throwing lights-out on that night. |

To be fair, both the Mets and Giants had red-hot pitchers throwing that night. I understand your point but let's not forget that this one-game playoff to determine THE FOURTH team making a League playoff is a recent phenomenon. Not too long ago many of these teams would simply be watching the playoffs without even the sniff of a chance. |
