How the hell do you know, pinhead? :oh yeah: How was your xmas, stjohns? Huh?? I know what I know. I cannot recall ever seeing a reaction by players supporting their former coach like I do with Rex. They love the guy and it shows. I had a good Christmas, thanks for asking. You?? you know; my eggnog is too strong. I mis-int-tit-preted what you were chesting...i mean saying. The titstraction was almost palpable. I thought you were down on the players for being in love with the coach; but yes - that was a terror of a defense. Were gonna miss that. Woody answered me when I asked him if a tough defense was the key to a JEts fans heart; he answered "without question". The answer on defense HAS to bve compelling; no question. I had Another Awesome Pretend Xmas, thanks for asking.

That's exactly why the Jets felt forced to do something that may have had doubts doing, getting rid of Rex. If last year's GM hire was a good one I don't think we're a 4 win team and I don't think Rex is gone. The misfire on Idzik set this franchise back several years and led to the firing of the best HC we've had since Parcells. I agree 100%, we couldn't force a coach on a new GM again, even if it was the right thing to do IMO. Had the GM hire been better 2 years ago then Rex is going into this season with a much better roster, he possibly still has Revis on the team, and has a young, talented roster after 12 picks in the deepest draft in a decade. John Idzik destroyed the Jets. But the issue is that the better GMs didn't want Rex. So the issue would have never resolved itself. And on that note if the better GMs didn't want Rex shouldn't that tell us something about his style as a HC? Good post. Yes, it's possible. It's also possible that the good GMs didn't want to work for Woody Johnson. A good GM might also like the "lease with an option to buy" on Rex, meaning that the new GM comes in and has a built-in excuse as he keeps Rex for one year before deciding his fate. The fact of the matter is that the Jets had, according to Rotoworld, the 26th best roster in the NFL after they signed Eric Decker and before the Draft. We all know how the draft went....it was possibly the biggest football management failure of the past decade. NO ONE has done less with more than John Idzik (12 picks, a bazzillion in Cap $). So we don't upgrade the roster and then we fire the coach for ending up with about the 26th best team in football with the 26th best roster. Doesn't compute for me. Rex Ryan overachieved in 3 of his seasons here (2009, 2010, 2013). He underachieved in '11 and '12. This year he got this roster to perform just about as good as it was capable of....a 2 point loss to NE, a 1 point loss to NE, beating a Pittsburgh playoff team, taking Denver to the final 5 minutes of the game, etc. JMHO but I don't think Rex was the problem. I respect your opinion.

I respect your opinion. It is possible. But again take a step back. Look how many excuses have just been made for Rex in recent posts: bad OC, bad GM, bad owner, bad players. I'd say Rex Ryan over achieved last year only. 2009: 9-7, as expected. roster was loaded with talent on the OL/RB, good receivers, good front 7, and HOF level play at one CB spot; very shaky QB play; remember he beat Cincy, and then needed multiple missed field goals to get past SD; also was about to be eliminated from contention until Manning was pulled from that RS game 2010: 11-5, on par with roster. Again loaded on the OL/RB, excellent receivers from the get go, similar front 7 situation, amazing CBs; QB was average/mediocre that year; defense came to play 2/3 times, offense was again limping along Also I totally agree that Idzik is a colossal failure as a GM, far worse than Rex in terms of their respective positions. I guess that might separate me out from others who wanted Rex gone.

If I have to explain any part of this ^^^ to you Gonçalo C. should fire you too communications box my azz...I guess Im fired. Please elaborate. Alright, I'm assuming you've landed here somehow from Portugal. I noticed the "woptastic" handle back at JI, taken in part it's a American ethnic slur for people of Italian descent and as a whole it could seem self-deprecating...if you were an Italian that is. In my reply "dago-rreat" was an allusion to a very well known advertising slogan incorporating another anti-Italian ethnic slur "dago" which oddly enough is an anti Portuguese slur in the UK. Seeing it's the name of your (employer?) I see there's no insult intended it's just a curiosity.Speaking of curiosity, I'm curious as to how someone in Portugal became a Jets fan...

I am not a porkchop but am married to 1 and they are most stubborn people in the world. though they are pretty good at paving driveways and pouring concrete.
