All of a sudden liberals are concerned with $8 billion in spending. Obama ran trillion dollar deficits. We have a $58 billion yearly trade deficit with Mexico. We cut into that by just 10% and the wall is paid for in 2 years. That's fine you're ok with paying for this wall, but that's not really the point. The point is he promised to make Mexico pay for the wall and now all of us have to pay for it. It was his first big campaign promise and now it's already changed before he's even in office. A lot of his campaign promises didn't make sense, but people bought into it. He's going to do everything and it's all going to be great. Didn't matter if it seemed possible or not and people ate it up. Now he's already backing out of this "mexico is paying for it" promise, so what's next? I never thought Mexico was cutting us a check for the wall. And he never said they were. There are a multitude of ways to make them pay and I think we will get creative. People can still pretend that he is moron but he toppled 2 political dynasties and defeated 2 political establishments. And that is not to mention the academia and media bias. All while spending fractions of what they did. If you dont think he can bend Mexican politicians to his will then I dont think you have been paying attention.

He absolutely said Mexico was paying for that wall. "I will build a great great wall on our southern wall border and I will have Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words." Those are his specific words. Don't play the semantics game - you know exactly what he was inferring with that statement. And I don't think he's a moron. No one gets to where he is in life by being stupid. My issue with him is he's a salesman that sold a bunch of desperate people a lot of false hope. The guy duped 46% of this country with catch phrases.

And what exactly was his opponent selling? She spent her money on pop stars, cozying up to the press and making sure she could run up the score in the liberal coastal cities.

Doesn't matter what his opponent was selling. She's not going to be president. If she were and she wasn't following through with whatever those promises were, we could criticize her, but that's not the case. Trump is the next president and he's already not following through with his very first campaign promise. He's no different than any other lying politician selling false hope.

He hasn't even been sworn in yet and you are claiming he isn't doing something. How about criticizing the guy that has been President the past 8 years? If I remember right he said things like "If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor" and laughed at Romney for saying Russia was going to be a threat and is now acting like Russia is the biggest threat ever. How about you give Trump a few months before you criticize him for what he isn't getting done as president?

Thats Washington math. And that deal had tax hikes with the promise of reduction in spending. Like most of those deficit reduction plans have. But when has Washington ever reduced spending? If they were real about it the tax increases and cuts needs to come at the same time. Because in Washington "cuts" means a decrease to the rate of increase. Yes, that is called a compromise and that is how a democracy is supposed to work. I think its reasonable to look at entitlement reform and look at tax hikes on the upper class. Everyone should bleed a little bit.

American tax payers are now going to fund a wall that he guaranteed Mexico would pay for while trying to win votes. These are facts. I can only speak for myself, but I was happy with the job Obama did in office. I've got nothing to really criticize.

That or I remember what it was like the last time a republican was in office.

Because I believe it will significantly impede illegal immigration as well as the flow of narcotics. sorely mistaken on that part. Just not remotely accurate at all, not sure who is telling you that but they are a liar. US gov pushes all those drugs in their war on drugs scheme. Are you talking about the marihuanas? Not even once?

He's going to break every promise, indeed has started to before even assuming office, and it won't make any difference. Every move will be rationalized and excused, just like it already is here. It's a cult of personality, der Fearless Leader

Everyone should bleed a little bit. I agree. But like I said whenever we do something about the deficit it is always tax hike and the promise of cuts in spending. The cuts never come. This isnt a Rep vs. Dem issue for me. As far as I am concerned they both spend like drunken sailors. So I come to terms with that and decide what I think I can live with.
