I like Cook a lot but Leonard Fournette is too elite to pass up. It's like passing up Adrian Peterson for Chris Johnson.

In a weird way, I happen to think that some of the best players from the up coming draft will be taken from the 2nd round and lower . I think Wayne Gallman is the best RB from this draft . I think the OT from Wisconsin Ramczyk is the best OT from this draft . I think the best OC is the kid from from Kentucky Jon Toth .
I don't like either of the top b2 DEs Garrett or Barnett .
P.S. There's no way I take Fournette over Cook . Cook is the better receiver, the better blocker, has the wiggle that fournette doesn't to make a defender miss and runs with power if not near as much as Fournette . It's funny, but with as much power as fournette runs with, he goes down quite easily .

picking a RB in the first round would be a mistake. The Jets O line is so bad that the back will absorb 3 years worth of hits in his rookie season.
O line and DBs should be the rule -- with the exception of taking an edge rusher should one fall to the Jets. The O line and DB the jets currently have are so bad that the Jets should reach on picks rather than take the BAP. What they should be doing is trading out of their top pick to get a pick lower in the first and an additional pick.

Offensive line. I don't care who's available. The pick has to be offensive line. I'll puke if we go defense again. We've wasted about the last 10 first round picks on the defense with nothing to show for it.

There might not even be an OL taken in the Top 20 when all is said and done. No way I'd draft someone like Ramczyk or Robinson over a Leonard Fournette/Dalvin Cook/Jamal Adams/Jabrill Peppers. If I'm running the Jets, I'd go after a short term LT in free agency like Andrew Whitworth or Reilly Reiff and draft a RT to compete with Shell in the 2nd/3rd round.

After we cut/trade some of the old dead wood (Clady, Revis, Henderson, Breno, Sheldon) we should be at least $30MM under the cap. It would be criminal if we do not bring in at least a starting LT and one other starter on the OL. I don't want to be forced to reach for a guy at 5 or 6 in the draft. Our OL needs to be addressed in March, not April.

We're going to have to overpay anyone that we want to bring in. That's just the way it is. The Jets are essentially in the same boat as the Browns and Jags at this point.

Problem is, the best offensive player available to the Jets where they pick is WR Mike Williams from Clemson

And if we have done nothing to fill the need in FA, then what happens if someone takes the guy we have targeted ahead of our pick. I want to see some proven NFL talent added to the OL.

I want to get at least one OL starter in free agency.
I don't want to attempt to grab 2 draft picks and have them start right away.

These are the things that happen when you neglect a position forever.
