Honestly, all I think we need is one. I can live with a battle at RT between Shell and Qvale. Where we need help is LT. I think we need two top tier picks at both Tackle positions but I realize that takes time. These are the things that happen when you neglect a position forever. Would you trade back and take Cam Robinson if you could ?

As to Offensive lineman. The Jets have had two stretches of very good offensive line play in their post superbowl era and both can be traced to using high picks in the draft on O lineman.
1977 Round 1, Pick 4 Marvin Powell LT USC 1978 Round 1, Pick 4 Chris Ward RT Ohio State
their team went to the AFCG and continually was at or near the top of the league in rushing with a backfield of Clark Gaines, Scott Deirking and Kevin Long
Then
2004 Round 1, Pick 4 D’Brickashaw Ferguson LT UVA 2004 Round 1, Pick 29 Nick Mangold C Ohio State
2 AFCG's with Mark Sanchez as QB
In both instances the Jets O line enjoyed stellar play during the peak years of choosing O lineman early in the draft. Unfortunately, in both instances they failed to re-stock talent. Since 2000 other than the 2004 draft, the Jets have only selected 2 O lineman in the first three rounds Vlad Ducasse in the 2d round and Kareem Mackenzie in the 3d round. Most knew Vlad was a terrible pick from the start. Mackenzie had an excellent pro-career leaving in free agency for the Giants in 2005 and winning 2 superbowls.
So, if you want a very good line, you've got to be willing to select lineman in the first three rounds. If the Jets do not select at least on OL in the first three rounds, in my eyes the draft gets an F.

Fine by me, because I like the kid from Wisconsin and I could care less what pick we use to take him . Those linemen know how to play the game and are well coached. The RBs on the other hand, always suck because of the huge hole they run through in college which doesn't translate to the pro game .

If it's me, It's BPA between Peppers and Fournette at 5 (Teez if both are gone)
2nd Rd has to be an OT. Maybe a C in the late rounds. Gonna have to overpay for a good LT in FA and hope we strike gold with the draft. No more piece meal stuff...time has come to get the line fixed.

He comes up small when it matters and hasn't impressed me at all. I'm looking for a Prospect to develop who has Franchise QB potential . I have Ramczyk as my top Tackle in this draft barring his medical . Kid is a football player at a position of need and will definitely be a 1st round pick .
Here's a question for you . How many teams do you think would like to do the draft over and reconsider Dax Prescott's draft position ?

I actually liked Prescott more than most and said "He's what some teams thought Tebow would become. He won't put up 300 yards a game, but he wins." Just because he's producing now doesn't mean his tape warranted being taken higher. Lets see how he does next year when teams have tape on him. You're also asking someone who would have gladly taken Prescott over Hack. Aren't you a fan of Hack?

I'm not talking hindsight, but just wondering if we knew, where would you have taken him . You said you liked him, so how high were you willing to take him ? I didn't like Prescott at all, but I liked Hack and wanted to take him where we did because I didn't think he would make it to our 3rd round pick . My QBs last year were Wentz, Cook, Hackenberg and Brissett . I didn't like Lynch, Goff or Prescott .
What I'm really saying, is I like these 3 guys, and I like all 3 enough to take any of em at 6 . I'm just hoping the decision gets made before 6 . Either the player gets taken, or someone makes an offer or I'm willing to make a move up for say Garrett . Jets need stars, so we have to take a guaranteed star with this top pick .

And I'm saying I wouldn't have drafted Smith before the 4th round because he's one dimensional and I wouldn't have taken Hack until the 6th. I also don't agree with two of your top picks at 6 this year. If you were our GM I'd hope you're right because like Macc this draft will be your last if you don't hit on picks. My hand would be over the button to fire you.

If it doesn't work out, it doesn't but you go with what you believe .

I'm sure Mac believed in Smith and Hack otherwise he wouldn't have taken them. So far they haven't proven shit and I don't expect much from them. His job depends on them and this next draft. If he takes the other two players you listed I expect him to get fired. Also he's tied to Hack. I doubt he takes a QB at 6 unless it was a can't miss prospect.

to be fair, Dak didn't look this good in his senior year. He's high as shit on frosted flakes or something. I really liked what he did his junior year - but when i took a close look last season he was all over the place with touch and accuracy on anything past 10 yards. He didn't have great pocket presence at times either...
Just goes to show, some kids adapt to the game around them. Some don't.
