Darnold, Falk and Rosen in 2018. Go with Hackenberg and Petty next year and if we still need a QB our record will be shit, and we pick one of those. Hopefully Darnold. Darnold may be the most interesting one of those 3. For a guy who is 6'4" 225, he was one of the higher rated dual threat QBs coming out of high school. He is a So Cal kid who wanted to play at USC. Max Browne the over hyped 5 star kid had committed to USC the year before and the only thing Darnold asked the coaching staff was "the best player plays right?" He then beats out Browne and has a really good season this year. Love his attitude and by all accounts studies the game and is extremely intelligent. Will be fun to see what QB separates himself next year, the 2018 QB class will be substantially better than 2017.

Don't forget Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen as well. It will be a loaded QB class next season. Totally. The question is do we have the integrity as a franchise to survive another year with petty/Hackenberg? We're in a really crummy situation at the moment. If we spend on a glennon caliber QB, it'll be hard/impossible to see us drafting a QB high unless there's new management. Big it's also hard to imagine Macc sticking to his guns with the two QBs he's drafted. May as well show himself the door in that instance

You can officially scratch Luke Falk off your mock offseason. Kid is going back to Wazu for another year. A little risky, but I can appreciate that. He's got enough fans in the war room that i think he would have caught fire the closer we got to the draft. Next year, he's going to have to stand out more so if he wants to be looked at near the top... then again, anything can happen in the next 12 months.

What's wrong with believing in what you saw and evaluated in the players? Glennon would require some type of financial commitment to get him here, and personally I'd pass. He's just as much a question mark. Yeah he wouldn't be a bad option to throw into the mix with a cheap short deal. But he's not coming here without a good deal for himself. As far as the integrity comment, they sure weren't concerned about it when they brought back Fitz. Fitz was the worst starter in the league the moment the Jets resigned him.

Go with Petty and Hack - spend that money on putting together a line that gives them the time to figure stuff out. And draft bpa. In other words, stick to your guns...not sure if its integrity, more like confidence or discipline, but we need to find some of all of those and some new coordinators fast.

BPA is great when your in Madden Franchise mode and you can sim 3 seasons in 30 minutes piling up talent. But in the real life NFL only good teams can go straight BPA as they stockpile talent. Bad teams with obvious weaknesses and some limited area of strength, can not go straight BPA. For example, the Jets can not afford to take a DT, DE or WR if he happens to be the BPA, and while I would have no problem if the Jets took an ILB if he happened to be the BPA in the first couple of rounds, I would be in a clear minority to a very vocal majority.

As we get closer I deviate towards what I think the Jets will do, this time around however, I'm going with what I would do. Notable moves: Cuts/FA: Giaco (Cut) Revis (retires), Winters (wants too much $$), Gilchrist (injury settlement/cut), Harris (part ways), Clady gone. Trade: Richardson to SF for a 3rd rnd pick (top of the 3rd). resign/restructure; Mangold FA signings; OT Andrew Whitworth, OG Ron Leary, CB D. Kirkpatrick, FS C. Conte, ILB K. Minter DRAFT:Jets trade back 8 spots (IND moves up to take Fournette to pair with Luck. We get a 2nd this year and 1st next year) 1- RB D. Cook (Fl St) 2- OLB T. McKinley (UCLA)... the real deal! 2- OT. F. Lamp (wku) 3- QB L. Falk (wazzu) 3- CB C. Sutton (ten) 4- TE J. Sprinkle (Ark) 5- WR J. Lane (arkron) Loose roster:QB: Petty, Falk, Hackenberg RB: Cook, Powell, Forte WR: Marshall, Decker, Q Enunwa, R Anderson, D Smith, J Lane TE: ASJ, Sprinkle, Bostick OL: Whiteworth, Carpenter, Leary, Mangold, W. Johnson, B. Shell, F. Lamp DL: Williams, Wilkerson, McLendon, Simon LB: Lee, Jenkins, Mauldin, McKinley, Minter, Ochi DB: Kirkpatrick, Burris, Skrine, Pryor, Conte, Sutton, Williams Thoughts? Would you be excited? Good job. I'd draft Hooper or Wilson in the 1st and go after Trumaine Johnson, though. Revis retire. Wishful thinking. I think he's got something left at safety. Has to agree to a huge pay cut. I think he will.

Actually agree with that. I should have said Offensive BPA (unless a stud OLB is available)...

The more I think about it the more I'm thinking our most valuable resources should be deployed as follows:
Cap $: Use the big money on a LT 1st Round pick: Best available CB or OLB 2nd Round pick: Best available RB, CB or OLB (exclude the position taken in Round 1)
This is not a QB draft. This is not an Offensive Line draft in Round 1. This IS a RB and Edge/OLB draft according to most people.
Just my two cents.

If Fournette and Cook run at the speed that cures cancer as people here say, we should get one of them (assuming we pull off an lt in free agency). Lets be good at something (atleast one).

Where do you guys see OJ Howard getting drafted? That is someone I am praying we get the opportunity to draft.

What do you think of Marcus Maye and Jerrad Davis? I just started watching them tonight, but from what I've seen Maye looks pretty good. He loves to punch the ball out which is kind of a lost art. He reminds me of safety version of Charles "Peanut" Tillman. He might give up a few plays, but he forces turnovers. Davis also intrigues me because his LB coach Randy Shannon compared his heart, skill, and knowledge of the game to Ray Lewis who he also coached. I don't think he's anything close to Lewis, but those qualities are invaluable at the LB postion. He also looks like he has a quite a bit of talent.
