What if he consolidates the money saved by releasing (or trading) Decker and Marshall and uses it to procure one younger, better receiver, like say Alshon Jeffery? We don't need both of them (Enunwa can be a #2 and Anderson can be a #3), so why not essentially exchange them for a longer-term #1? SaveSaveNot necessarily a fan of signing a guy like Jeffrey, but if we release Marshall, who caught less than 50% of his targets last year anyway and will be 33 years old next month, and we replace him with say a Mike Williams or Corey Davis in the draft and use the $7.5MM we save to sign a starter elsewhere -- maybe OL which has a weak draft class, that would work for me. I don't see us releasing both Decker and Marshall, but given Marshall's age and drop in production, I think it is time to move on. Marshall's drop off was down to the revolving door at QB and Decker not bein out there last year, not age, he's still in incredibly good shape and easily capable of a 1k yard 7 TD type of season next year. If we are goin to cut him, it should be for his mouth and the constant distraction he brings to the team.

Reminds me of the infamous Scoops-GreenJets&Ham insider info threads of JI..priceless Never. Gets. Old. Ah the Ham meltdowns... I remember him going nuclear on 32 in a thread during Spygate where the conversation was whether Mangini knew about the setup when he was in NE. "I will not let my HC get dragged through the mud...blabla" Locked the thread and all. Now that I think of it maybeh Bond was Ham.

If we are goin to cut him, it should be for his mouth and the constant distraction he brings to the team. Maybe you are right, but I don't agree -- the drop off in his play was too great to just be explained by supporting cast. The guy has had solid seasons catching passes from the likes of Kyle Orton, Matt Moore, Chad Henne, Jay Cutler and Ryan Fitzpatrick. He has had solid seasons where his #2 receiver was Davone Bess, or Earl Bennett or Jabar Gaffney. I agree with you that some drop off would be expected based upon the play of Fitz, Decker injury, drawing double coverage on most routes. But last season, he was statistically one of the worst WRs in the league. Out of 60 WRs in the NFL that were targeted at least 80 times, he was 59th catching only 46.1% of his targets and 59th in drop percentage (6.3%). An elite receiver has to be better than that regardless of the situation. Jermaine Kearse and Tavon Austin, respectively, were the only guys ranked lower. The drop off from one of the best WRs in the league to one of the worst, in my opinion is more than just supporting cast. His mouth and the distraction just seal the deal.

I think NE was where Revis truly mastered the art of being a fat lazy twat who didn't need to stay in shape to win, the league, referee's and dumb as shit opposing team play calling was all that was required.

Yes. A clean one with no asterisks*. What about next to his Super Bowl win? Any footballs he caught were the opponent's and therefore correctly inflated in compliance with NFL regulations. Clean and untainted.

No idea what that scribble says. Enlarge it, it's as plain as day. Kim Jung Il's autograph on the dollar bill? Unique.
