He did. I just picked. Malik Hooker. Love the kid. Real chargers would fuck it up and take Lattimore.

Ultimately, if you feel confident (enough) about the off-field stuff, then Cook is #1 playmaker in this draft on offense IMO. The Jets did their homework, and feel good enough about where things are with Cook. There's some risk, but we've laid out our expectations. The top priority is giving our QB(s) a chance to succeed this year and beyond -- and with no OT worth a selecting a good running game is a quarterback's best friend. I still love Cook despite the so so combine, but I think that and his off the field troubles drop him to the bottom 3rd of the 1st round. He's definitely a player you draft off what you see on the field. He's the only reason FSU beaten Miami the last 3 years. Even when they had Winston they would have lost if not for Cook. A lot of people compare him to Jamaal Charles, but I think he's more of an Arian Foster. Foster had a medicore Pro Day and still was a top back for awhile. Foster Pro Day: Height: 6'1 Weight: 215lb 40 Yard Dash: 4.69 10 Yard Split: 1.62 Reps: 23 Vert: 32" Broad: 115" 20 Yard Shuttle: 4.53 3 Cone: 7.09 That's a good example. The measurables stuff is not a make-or-break thing for me. I see Cook as the Antonio Brown of RBs, who himself had a pedestrian combine. The character stuff is a legit concern, i'm operating under the presumption that the Jets did some homework and have a plan for him on developing and maturing. The idea that he's not a top 10 talent on the field is preposterous. He's a universal 3-down weapon in virtually any offense in the NFL

If we draft him I'm doing what Jerry Jones did with Dez and get him a babysitter. On the field I have no questions about his character. He's a warrior and leader. It showed in the Bowl game when he told his team that there was no way he was going to sitting out.

Well I did not expect both RBs to be gone by 8. Every mock I have seen has Carolina taking Fournette.
Anyway, the consideration was OL, edge rusher, and WR. Well too early to take OL and I am not sure Gettleman would take a WR this high.
So I strongly considered Barnett with this pick but felt that with Olsen turning 33 this year and the back up TE (Dickson) turning 30, why not help the running game as well as find another target for Cam. Plus this guy is a rare talent.

One of the highest fumble rates among backs coming out this year. He absolutely can be a dynamic playmaker, but losing the ball loses games. He is going to need to get that shit fixed.

BTW, I think I sent I against I a message but I'm using my phone, and apparently I'm an idiot and can't figure out if it went. I don't want people to be held up unnecessarily. Thanks!

Read my mind -- I almost put "The Jets select Cook and simulatenously hire Jerry's mod-squad" in my selection post

Please remember to indicate in your post in the selection thread if you sent PM to the next team. Makes life easier for me if I know it has been done, and I know you guys are all about making my life easier.

Bing just asked me to pick for him. I'll give him a bit to get back, but based on his PM he may not be getting back online soon.

In theory the QBs should start flying off the board now?

No offense intended, but I absolutely DESPISE the Jets pick at #6. Nice RB. Awful pick for this team at that spot and adds little to the rebuild. Barf. No RB at #6. Never. Ever. That is all. Carry on.

In theory the QBs should start flying off the board now? Possibly. I'm betting only 1 goes when the day comes. Anyone interested in 12?
