Better not.
However if it was a choice between Trubisky, Watson and Kizer I wouldn't be pissed about Trubisky.
Watson I'd be bummed but I'd root hard.
Kizer I'd be pissed.
Not Hack pissed but pretty close.

Definitely no qb this year. Would prefer o line help. Go 0-16 and draft the kid out of usc next year with the first overall pick. That's what i'll be rooting for all year. Lots of losses.

Problem is this is the shittiest OL class in recent memory. I would also add that we have a ton of young offensive lineman. Winters and Carpenter should be solid. Lets use this season to figure out what we have in Ijalana, Qvale, Shell, Johnson, Dozier, etc. Even add Beachum to the mix who looked like a really promising young OT in Pitt until the injury two years ago. If Beachum returns to form, and two of the other 5 can play, we could have a solid young OL. And none are older than 28. I would not call the OL a strength, but neither is it the trainwreck that some seem to make out to be.

Agreed I don't see it as some sort of dire straits situation as many do. Winters, Carpenter and Johnson make up a pretty solid interior. If Beachum stays healthy, then the Jets got a steal considering some of the batshit crazy money that inferior OT's like Kalil received in FA. I think many are underestimating just how well Shell played at RT over the last 3-4 games last year. If he can continue to build upon that, then suddenly it looks like Macc made a pretty smart move using that future 4th rounder to move up and secure him. Even Dozier looked like he took a leap last year when we would use him as a 6th OL in short yardage/goaline situations.

I think Jets will trade back into the first and draft Patrick mahomes.and I think they use Richardson as bait and maybe a 6th round pick to close deal

To Rob and HN, your objections to my post are based upon our differences of opinion on Watson as a prospect (which is fair). I'll post something about how I came around on him as a prospect.

I could see the Jets taking a mid-round QB if they like the value - eg someone like Peterman with the comp 3rd - or taking a flyer on a guy with upside very late (eg Dobbs) but I just can't see the Jets picking a QB high this year.
Any QB picked will be a challenger to Petty, not to Hack or McCown.

Mac would absolutely be putting his career as a GM on the line (even more than it already is) if he took another QB and I just don't see that as a good gamble. Maybe I'm wrong but I just don't see any of the top 3 QBs being ready this season (or maybe ever) and Mac can't have yet another project QB.
He needs to have a kick ass draft or he may be out the door. If he has a good draft, he may get his chance to pick a QB next year.
I don't see a lot of wins on the schedule unless Hack or Petty play above expectations.
I think Mac picks an offensive weapon to help the QBs. My guess is that he will try to trade back but if he can't, I think he will take either Founette or Howard.

Watson Trubisky (I think he has the best film, but not a large enough sample size) Hackenberg Petty Just because they are better prospects doesn't mean it's worth burning a pick on them, especially in the first. We have a 4th round QB and another who should have went in the 4th round so it's a group that is easily bettered. Tank this year and load up for next year.

Watson Trubisky (I think he has the best film, but not a large enough sample size) Hackenberg Petty First question should be are any of these QBs capable of being a Championship QB? If the answer is yes, then go get the highest ranked guy on your list. If the answer is no, the list does not matter.
