I have been trying to see if I can find a list of last year's prospect visits. Was discussed in this thread newyorkjetshampur.com/thread/5565/jets-prospect-visits?page=1but the list was not updated after 4/21, about a week before the draft. Only guys listed there that we drafted are Hackenberg and Jenkins. I am pretty sure we hosted Darron Lee, might have been in that last week. I spent a lot of time trying to figure this out a few nights ago, and it was here the entire time(at least some of it) Was very curious to see how many players drafted in Mac had been on private visits.

Very atypical Jets draft courtships this year.
Who are we not spending time with? Fournette, Williams.
But hey. We're all over of them safeties.

I'm feeling like it's either gonna be Adams or Hooker. That's who they want. As each day passes the less confident I feel in it being an offensive pick. Surprise surprise.

Although it is hard to believe anything you hear in these last few weeks, I am beginning to think Hooker will be the guy at 6. Unless we can find a trade down partner.

I said last year that I thought all the pre draft stuff coming out made it seem like Hack was the guy they were targeting and not Lynch. That turned out to be true. It feels the same with Hooker. I think if Adams makes it to 6, he'd be the pick, but that's unlikely. I think I'm in the minority, but I'd be thrilled with Hooker. Said it a few months ago. Take OL and RB later. No WR worth 6. I think Hooker will be a star. Which means he will probably suck.

He takes bad angles and is not a good tackler. I know a lot of people like him, including a lot of folks who know way more about football than I do, but when I watch him play, I just can't get excited. If he is the pick, I will be disappointed, but not surprised. And I will root like hell for the kid to succeed.

His first love is basketball, and he almost quit football because he didn't start his freshman year. He had to drive home every weekend from OSU to PA just to have his mom and family members pump his ego back up. It's obvious the kid has a ton of talent, but Idk if I trust him. He's all about flash right now and little substance since he hasn't played football for long. I won't hate the pick, but I wish we had a stronger secondary to put him in. The media will eat this kid alive if he starts slow. At 6 overall everyone is expecting Ed Reed when he's probably another Kerry Rhodes, which isn't bad.

[ To each their own, but I knew a lot of Iowa football players when I was a baseball player there, and I think people would be surprised how many kids don't love Football or consider quitting early in their careers, whether it be from home sickness or otherwise.

And just my opinion on Hooker, or why I like him so much, is that he has elite instincts. He is not an elite athlete, but watching him on the field, you'd think he is because his instincts are so incredible.
He is still rough around the edges, but I think that stuff smooths out over time. With his natural instincts, the other stuff is a matter of when, not if, as it is with some other raw prospects at various positions over the years.

I get that and understand it. Hell my favorite Jet ever is Curtis Martin. He didn't like football and used it as a vehicle to do what he wanted. My thing with Hooker is that he hated it because he wasn't a star right away. He was ready to say fuck it, but the only reason he didn't is because his mom forced him to keep playing. Again I wouldn't hate taking Hooker. He does have elite talent, but his attitude and his lackadaisical attempts in the run game are a red flag to me.

He's got great instincts for someone who hasn't played a lot of football. I really wish he would have stayed one more year at OSU, but there was no way he wasn't coming out. He's a top 15 pick at least.
