He was even a Jet for a brief moment. He was the Aaron Donald light of his time. He was just too tall to be a DT which forced him into being a 3-4 end and not physical enough to make it.

He was a physical freak, not a football player. True the Vernon Gholston of DEs would be more accurate.

I was totally on board with the VG pick. His tape was great, and his size/speed/first step were very impressive. But I can still remember the exact moment I knew he was going to bust. About 15 seconds after he was drafted. His name had just been announced and he was in the green room about to come on stage in front of the fans. Suddenly the fans started booing. Gholston looked momentarily terrified. At that moment, I knew he didn't have the mental strength to make it. Ironic thing is the fans weren't actually booing Gholston. The Commish had just announced the Pats were on the clock, and that's what the fans were booing. But that moment was very telling. The fear in his eyes for that instant said it all.

Yea. I mean Matt was always favoured to be the pick for ATL following the Vick scandal, but OAK had a decent running game and no talent on D to speak of. Al Davis tho...

Hurry up and sign him Mac! He'll probably turn into nothing, but it's a free asset with a huge ceiling. I'll be a little miffed if we don't get him. Signing with the Colts:
