Chris Nolan is one of my favorite directors, definitely looking forward to seeing him take on a WW2 piece. Plus, Tom Hardy is a bad ass. i'll hold off until you see the movie...

Ever. Don't go in expecting deep characters with long backstories and super heroic hollywood endings tho.

Dunkirk. Very powerful movie. Wouldn't say it's the best war movie ever but it's up there, a classic.
Nolan did a phenomenal job making you feel like you were THERE as the bullets flew and the bombs exploded.
Love movies shot out of sequence and he did it perfectly.
Don't look for a lot of dialogue.
Go see it in a big format, totally enhances the experience.

Or was it hacksaw ridge? I dunno. We were all fairly liquored up when Dunkirk and hacksaw ridge came up.

Any inaccuracies are very minor.

It's not as if they had Churchill throwing harpoons at U Boats from the bow of a whaler. _
