No, I didn't know Russo (I honestly forgot his alias, stupid me) was Jigsaw, nor did I know that the Punisher dragged his face across glass, hence my complaint of you offering up a spoiler. As for the out of character assessment I've consistently made, you really need to go back and re-read (if you've ever read them at all?) the first 100 or so issues, or maybe the first 50 of 'War Journal' and get re-acquainted with the character you purportedly love, because this iteration sucks dick. Bernthal is awful. How any real Punisher fan (see, I can be a passive/aggressive dick, too) can defend this as being a quality rendition is ridiculous. That said, I think I owe it to myself to read the Punisher MAX stuff. Feel free to recommend an arc. Ironingly, Jane's movie was on last night. Ignoring the goofy comic-acting of the cast, his is the truest version. Shame the casting people missed that one. Well my mistake. I assumed you knew. We talked about this roughly a year ago in the other thread: The "unhinged" stuff was dialed back exponentially in The Punisher compared to Daredevil S2. Can he still be hotheaded? Sure, but I've never had a problem with that stuff coming through when he's in the middle of murdering the shit out of criminals. I only have a gripe when he's not in the process of "punishing" and it can come through in just normal conversations. Hell, even a few of the Mike Zeck covers of the old Grant/Zeck mini series portray him as a madman when the heat is on: Does Bernthal give some perfect portrayal of Frank Castle? Nope, no one has so far. Come to think of it I don't think any comic book hero has been portrayed totally accurately outside of Christopher Reeve's Superman. We still haven't gotten an accurate screen portrayal of Batman. Closest thing is still Adam West doing his iteration of the schlocky 50's/60's Silver Age Batman. Overall, I enjoyed the show for being a throwback to 70's/80's urban vigilantism. The stuff you really don't see anymore. It's not perfect, but I found it pretty entertaining. The first 6 or so episodes can be a bit of a slog at times (I could've completely done without the whole Madani/Stein crap trying to avenge the guy killed in Afghanistan) but the last 3-4 episodes totally made the show for me. All very fair and good points. Sorry I was being a bit cunty before, sand has been removed. I think Jackman's Wolverine has been very good, especially in the face of the horrible writing and production that Fox has been responsible for in the X-Men franchise. Chris Evans' Captain America is another I like. Robert Downey nails Stark's snark and conceit/egoism, but without the debauchery it comes across as affectatious.

Yeah, I totally blanked on Jackman as Wolverine. ‘Logan’ was hands down the best comic book movie that I’ve seen and he was consistently great in the role for damn near two decades. And it would’ve been great to see them do some of the Denny O’Neil stuff with RDJ as Iron Man where he was a hardcore drunk and womanizer. But there’s no way it would’ve blended in with the PG-13 major MCU movies.

That’s the way I wanted to see Wolverine portrayed since I was a kid. Swearing his ass off and brutally slaughtering the hell out of guys. Literally within the first 2 minutes of the movie he’s lopping off arms and putting his claws through faces.

Saw it and whilst I think it was good, I didn’t grow up with the X-men or Wolverine so I didn’t have any expectations one way or the other. His portrayal in any of the movies met my expectations because I didn’t have any. Some of the movies weren’t any good but I generally thought Jackman did an admiral job in each. I grew up on Batman and Ironman so whilst I loved their portrayals of those characters, I think the movies themselves were outstanding. Over and above the two super heroes. _

While I’m familiar with his backstory I’ve never read the comic so Shane’s portrayal of Frank was perfectly fine. For me. And the show had a nice level of violence. I think his relationship with Micro was the most compelling aspect. _

I thought the military conspiracy stuff was handled pretty well, but I’m glad they’ll finally be getting to Frank out on the streets taking on criminals. The showrunner Steven Lightfoot (who also did the Hannibal series) has already said he’d like to see Barracuda from the Punisher MAX series show up. Terry Crews would be fucking perfect. Best damn Punisher villain in decades. An awful piece of shit who is also hilarious and really charismatic.

I'm really not sure why Netflix has ignored the whole 'Born Again' storyline from Daredevil. There's some quality opportunity to juice it up utilizing the Punisher (who wasn't featured in it originally). Given his connection of Karen Page, it would be pretty raw. Throw in a Punisher v Nuke (who is already established in the show) and you have some grade A stuff. Hell, just do the Punisher/Nuke thing. Makes sense, no?

I think that’s exactly where they’re going with Season 3 of Daredevil. At least the basics of the Born Again storyline. I didn’t watch The Defenders, but reading online about the ending and where Murdock finds himself, it seems it’s headed that way. That’s where my mind immediately drifted to during the scene in Daredevil S2 where Kingpin talks all of that shit to Murdock in the prison. Should see Bullseye introduced as well. Maybe they can finally convince that dickhead Jason Statham to take the part because he would be perfect if he can pull off batshit crazy.

Love me some Jessica Jones. She could use her private area on my face like she's grinding coffee. And leave the boots on.
