I posted some video threads about Maye and Stewart it you guys are interested. When Maccagnan says BPA, its not just lip service. Maye and Stewart are both good players, they just don't address needs the way many of us would have liked. BPA is all fine and dandy, but so is roster construction and I'm beginning to have serious doubts about Maccagnan in that regard. Let's see what happens today, but I absolutely want Pryor and Sheldon gone. During last night's press conference, Macc (ever the poker player) probably came as close as he ever will to admitting that they are trying to move Pryor. We may pick up another 4th and 5th for Sheldon & Pryor (along with some conditional picks for next year). Going to be a busy day today. Abso - fucking - lutely. A good GM needs to be able to do more than evaluate talent. He needs to know how to build a roster, how and when to make a deal and needs to be a solid negotiator. And from what I have seen, Macc has fared poorly in these areas. Taking Leo in 2015, with Sheldon and Mo on the roster would only have made sense if he could have gotten value for either guy. Our coaching staff has never figured out how to get all 3 guys on the field together. Both Mo & Sheldon had more value to another team than to us, since either guy was easily replaced by Leo. Yet, here we are, 2 years later and all 3 guys are still on the roster, and we still don't know how to use all 3 effectively. I think odds are better than 50-50 that we go into the season with all 3 this year. If Macc was really offered a 2 for Sheldon last season and turned it down as had been rumored, that speaks to his inability to recognize value and strike a deal to improve the team. Incompetence. In 2016, his management of the QB position was abosulutely dreadful. Most of us on this site realized that Fitz solid 2015 season was an illusion. He feasted against bad defenses, caught some lucky breaks with dropped picks, and had a great WR tandem. He allowed Fitz to hold him up all year. Drafted Hack in the 2nd round - Hack may be a fine player someday (I doubt it) but to use a 2nd round pick on a guy you are not even going to let sniff the field. Carried 4 QBs all year. And we are still paying Fitz $5MM this season. Incompetence. Just look at the 10 highest paid guys on our roster. These guys should be the foundation of the team. You win with the guys at the top of the roster. 3 guys who play the same position -- Leo, Mo, Sheldon. 2 guards, Carpenter and Winters, who are fine players but not at a premium position. A # 2 WR coming off of shoulder surgery,. An aging inside linebacker. A slot CB, Skrine, who is a penalty flag machine. A safety, Gilchrist, coming off of knee surgery who is only meh when healthy. And a 38 year old QB with 18 wins over a 14 year career. The two trade back yesterday. I had been waiting for us to trade back all night. Both times, when I saw we traded back I was thirlled. Checked the draft value chart, only to see that we settled for a pick about a round later than we should have. Hopefully Macc still picks good players with the extra picks we acquired and then nobody will give a shit about where he took them. But the value just wasn't there in either trade. Incompetence. Macc may be a solid talent evaluator. To be fair, he has found some nice players, especially late in the draft, he has added some good UDFAs and late round picks. But his with his rigid adherence to BPA, I believe he has missed opportunities to improve the team. Where are the difference makers? The franchise QB, the left tackle, the edge rusher, the #1 WR, the shut down corner, the franchise QB, the feature back. After 2 and a half drafts, we still don't have any. Incompetence. End of rant.

I seriously, honestly hate you and hope you kill yourself one of these days. Like for real, I want you to die. You're an absolute fucking moron if you think the Stewart pick is bad in any way. So please, for the love of God, just shut the fuck up and stop being a moron. Killing yourself would work great too. You're simply NOT a True Jet fan.... AND NEVER WILL BE. That's all. Bye. See you in a month, faggot Fuck a month, just delete his account outright.

Good rant, god I got frustrating just reading that. I'm not nearly as well versed as most of you when it comes to the Jets but I know what I see and I'm not liking it. We all hoping when Terry Bradway and his reign of terror were expunged that things were going to be different. Finally new scouts! But Im still waiting for Macc and his new army of scouts to bowl us over with some steals of the draft or late round gems. Anyone can draft the best defensive player in the draft that falls into your lap. And fuck-all with the moronic process of Casserly & Wolf with this process of finding the right GM. Yeah consulting real football people is commendable, but you hire the guy and dont even let him hire the couch. Let's do it separately! The Jets always seem to think they will come up with something different and think they are smarter than everyone else. fuck

If the bucs had at least semi halfway decent uniforms I would adopt them and say fuck the jets forever.

OK, so I watched some Stewart games last night... he's actually pretty good. Lost in that run/screen happy offense, but he's got some tiger in him once the ball hits his hands. I personally didn't feel like that was a better pick than Hunt, but I can live with it. In fact, I'm glad it was him, vs some of the other options at receiver ranked around him.

I think we will keep Pryor, Maye and Adams are interchangeable so I think this Jet defense will be harder to decipher and Bowles now has the pieces to run his defense like he did in Zona.

I will say this... if these two kids start and play like you all say they will I will be happy with the picks... SO LONG AS Cook doesn't turn out to be a fucking beast that everyone knows he's going to be. Because that should have been our "at least we got Cook" saving grace in this draft.
I kind of forgot how TERRIBLE our safeties were last year and really was blaming that on the team quitting on their idiot HC and DC. 30 TDs through the air last year. If you wanted to complete a pass on the Jets all you needed to do was run 60 yards down field and catch it, they were that bad and quite honestly I just stopped watching all together. I would have murdered someone if I kept at it. They make me that angry.
Just be prepared to have quite possibly the worst offense we have seen in the last 15 years. It's going to be that bad. You thought it was bad last year? It's going to be worse. Brooksy Bollinger's offense will have faired better than this one.

I think this is thought process behind having 3 safeties with similar skill sets. All can stop the run, cover decently and blitz the qb. Having all three on the field can cause confusion for the offense in identifying the coverage and the blitzer as they are all interchangeable. Add in Lee and the safety picks look even better as we have an insane amount of speed across the middle of the field and should have no trouble stopping TE's and small dump off routes over the middle which has been a crux of this defense since 09.

Having said that, my buddy is a Cowboys fan, he laughed when we drafted Adams though not because he thinks it's a terrible pick. He said he could be paired up with his buddy Claiborne who he thinks was terrible in Dallas. So take that for what it's worth.
