Not sure how he has looked otherwise -- watching LSU-UF, just flipped it on at halftime, just in time to see the pick. |

He had a fumble as well... he still makes a couple wow throws a game, but it's a far cry from the Herculean prospect the media had him billed at 2 months ago. |

A solid second-tier of possible 1/2rounders seems to be emerging - including Lamar Jackson and Ryan Finley. And maybe Mason Rudolph depending on how rest of the season goes. Has Allen fallen that far?? I don't see a lot of discussion on him.

Hell, Kiper still has him as the 3rd overall player on his big board. |

When the dust settles -- what's actually driving Allen's stock? Twitter personalities. We haven't heard any scouts fawning over him. If he was that well respected with NFL scouting personnel, he would have declared last year when 1/2 his team. The feedback he got from teams was probably something along the lines of: " You've got some mouth watering measurables kid, but you should stick around and work on your fundamentals & accuracy"... both of which have been worse this year. It's not like he put up Mahomes numbers to validate the hype. If things continue on this path of performance, I see him being a day 3 guy. |

Regardless of the Jets record, odds are that one or more of the following QB's will be on the board when they pick in Round 1
Sam Darnold
Josh Rosen
Luke Falk
Mason Rudolph
Josh Allen
It's looking more an more doubtful that they will have a shot at Darnold or Rosen, but if Mac truly believes either is a sure fire franchise QB, he needs to trade whatever it takes to land one. If not, he really needs to do his homework on the other 3 to rank them and determine how and which one to land, or if they are so evenly evaluated that he will wait to see which fall to him.
Either way, it's going to be an exciting rest of the season watching my young NY Jets compete and holding out hope that they can add a promising young QB in the draft while filling other holes in free agency -- Laveon Bell would look great in a Jet uni.

I don't mean to condemn Allen as the worst thing going -- cause he's not, and there are a lot issues that are out of his control... but also, that's life in the NFL. You can't wilt at adversity. DJ talked up Allen as the next great thing in the summer, so i take this article with a rock of salt. Meanwhile, if you're a Falk fan.... things are coming together for the Jets and Luke. |
