That amendment was intentional based the way Jeremiah was soaking his panties over Allen this summer. He's supposed to be a seasoned scout/personnel guy (worked for BAL and PHI) and he went bananas over Allen based on very average tape from 2016... ...and you wonder how guys get over-drafted out left field.... there's your walking proof that even the most tenured NFL staff get sucked into the void.

But I can't deny his tools, only his brain, I would take him in the fourth, possibly. I figure Rosen and Darnold won't be Jets next year and I am almost ready to jump on the Falk train, I'm digging Jackson also. Just I had never heard the phrase "taken with a rock of salt"

Just I had never heard the phrase "taken with a rock of salt" Lol yea pretty sure I just made that up to emphasize how large that grain is. Allen could definely work as 2nd-4th rnd qb for a SD or PIT type looking to transition out of their leader in the 2 years. But for a team like us or CLE? hell no.

Maybe if we grafted McCown's skeleton with adamantium

I don't mean to condemn Allen as the worst thing going -- cause he's not, and there are a lot issues that are out of his control... but also, that's life in the NFL. You can't wilt at adversity. DJ talked up Allen as the next great thing in the summer, so i take this article with a rock of salt. Meanwhile, if you're a Falk fan.... things are coming together for the Jets and Luke. I'm concerned Falk is excelling because of mike Leach's system.

I'm concerned Falk is excelling because of mike Leach's system. Notwithstanding the system he's a very accurate QB with total command of that system. He just doesn't have the arm of a Derek Carr. If he had just a tad more arm I'd say trade up for him. And I've been one of his biggest fans here, I'm just this year questioning his arm. Last year he was awesome. _

A QB that makes reads, understands defenses and plays with poise, touch and accuracy. There's something there.

I'm concerned Falk is excelling because of mike Leach's system. Just to add on what Stokes and Paradis said but this kid is different even if it is a Leach offense. You think Air Raid and the first thing that comes to mind is one read, get it out fast. Falk is the opposite because he scans the field and goes through many progressions. It also helps that the kid lives and breathes football and wants to be great. I still think he'll improve on his velocity as he matures because the frame is there but I doubt it will ever be considered elite. I'll take a good arm with a cerebral QB that is deadly accurate over someone with a cannon that can't hit the side of a barn(ie Hack). I also think he's much more further along the curve of being an immediate and effective starter in this league. I've been very vocal about praising him for over a year now....my only concerns from watching a couple of his games this year is he holds it too long. IMO that is fixable.

I've reflected on that same issue. I too, wish would get rid of the ball quicker... however, next game watch for a couple things: how often that happens when they have to move the ball down the field (a quick flip/bubble pass won't cut it) and what the defense is doing. Where I'm going with this; is that sometimes i think it's easy for defenses to play the leach offense on anything that's obvious for 10+ yards. In other words, there's only a couple receivers running downfield and their routes are transparent. Add in that they don't have a downfield threat and I can see why he's stuck trying to find a place to put the ball for a first down.

however, next game watch for a couple things Did I mention that I'll definitely be watching less college ball this year since I've been a teenager. Doesn't help that I just learned I teared my meniscus and am due for surgery. My full analysis this year will be based on DB when I will have some free time.

A QB that makes reads, understands defenses and plays with poise, touch and accuracy. There's something there. I have to admit, I've not watched him play. My concern is that guys that offense throw 2 kinds of passes :1) quick, no read throws; or 2) sitting in a clean pocket, seemingly forever waiting for free receiver running a crossing pattern -- it's less reading a D, than it is just waiting for a receiver, any receiver, to appear uncovered.
