Darnold is going to be a great Pro. The guy can sling it. If I’m Cleveland he’s the pick. _ Rosen is a better fit because he knows how to complete passes when running for his life and throwing to meh receivers. Not from what I’ve seen of the two. Darnold is much more mobile and throws fleet well on the run. He hit some WOW throws last night. Rosen’s head scares me- not his attitude- I think that is way overblown. The concussions. He’s going to get pounded in the pros and he’s 2 concussions away from being out of football. I can’t risk that. _

How anyone can think Lamar should go before Darnold has got me stumped.
Lamar is by FAR the better runner and athlete.
Darnold is by FAR a better passer.
And in the pros I want the better passer.
Neither of them had great bowl games but Darnold made throws Jackson just doesn’t make.
And Darnold was facing an NFL like line and was harried all night.

News: This explains a lot. As much as I love the guy I can’t imagine that did anything to his pocket presence. And a game with 5 INTs? I don’t know. _

But the QB position is about a lot of things; confidence, comfort - i mean christ, his bloody wrist was broken. If that doesn't fuck with your mojo... Anyway, he's not an option for us at the top 1. Just something to file away for future consideration.

Aside from the Kirk Cousins talk - how bad was Eli this year? Does anyone think he's really done?
Personally I could see Elway making a big push for Eli in DEN, with that still-great defense and a top pick to build out the O.

They don't have a ton of cap space but they have enough to bring in Cousins and make a run next year. After the Lynch fiasco, it's going to be tough to sell playing another kid on what is otherwise a win now team.

I agree with that, in the sense that Elway probably wants a vet QB - which would very importantly take DEN out of the QB hunt. I have barely seen a mock draft where DEN isn't picking a QB, but I think the chances are real they don't. I think the Jets are in good shape if they want to grab a QB or move up.

Oh good point - forgot about him. 100% - looks like there are probably 3 legit "franchise" QBs on the market. Every draft pick and every player has red flags, but at least it feels like the Jets now have options.

K, I change my stance; there's no way in hell Mayfield makes it to us. Denver takes him at 5.
Get ready for Key/Allen/some other future scrub at 6.
Fuckin A.
