Things are going well. Just had my 3rd treatment this morning. So far no side affects. I need to get a CAT scan in the next week or so. If the little remaining cancer is getting smaller we will continue with the stage 4 trial drug I am on. It shrunk a walnut sized, inoperable, brain tumor to were it does not even show up on a PET scan. I am optimistic. Scars healed nicely. I found out we have cancer insurance so this is not even costing me a penny. Just got a check last week for 4775.00 to cover the copay's/deductibles and scan copay's. So life really is good. I am working on a Harvey relief trip in the first week of Oct. I may have to rent a box truck with the amount of stuff being dropped off and pledged. Good problem to have. There is a place in Allen TX that will accept them. We will then spend a few days volunteering to help them sort and pack up all the donations they have to get them ready to go to Houston. Thanks for asking. Glad that all is going well for you. And that the cancer insurance is covering the cost. You are an inspiration thinking (and acting) of the people of Texas when you have your own challenges.

It's baaaaack.
Fucking Cancer. While is Dallas on our Harvey relief trip the wifne, who inspects me daily now, found a new lump in my neck. Yup you guessed it, tests fucking positive for Melanoma. So I get a scan and I now have 4 new lesions. Nothing very big but a new surgery. They are pushing radiation really hard. I have read about that and it appears to be pretty fucking nasty. Surgery set now for the 30th. Another night in the fucking hospital not sleeping. More fucking scars a a new level of deformity not yet known. He said I will definitely have an indentation on the left side of my neck as he needs to remove some of the muscle. He did say I have a ton of muscle and an 18.5 in neck so I might not look that bad. I could also have the left side of my face droop like a stroke pt. There is a mandibular never that is in play. Fucking shit sucks for sure.

Absolutely. What are your thoughts on radiation? I have BC survivor friends who say no.

God bless your wife f0r catching it, and God bless you for being pissed and moving forward to knock it out. For the rest of you...Went in this afternoon and had one recent Mohs surgery scar inspected, more taken off a basal cell on my leg ( done once already, now a hole down almost to my tibia) and a basal cell that was removed from my back inspected for healing. ( all in the last 3 months) So that's two surgeries, and roughly 10 things removed over 20 years that could have turned into melanoma if I hadnt gone. And I never thought anything looked suspicious. If you're not getting checked, get fucking checked, especially the donkeys here. God bless TKasper. You got this.

Insidious fucking disease. I only wish I noticed a primary site. Even my RN wifne missed it. She'd a grabbed me by my ear and dragged me to a Doc. Once it goes inside there is no fucking plan. The good thing for me is that it was found somewhat early, thanks to the wifne, "lumps in your neck are bad, better get it checked, when you getting it checked, did you have it checked yet". God I love that little women.
