Always wanted to go. I have a cousin that travels there a couple of times a year for work. He always asks me to tag along. Says the food and people are amazing. One of these years I will get around to it.

Ha ha..believe me, all that sh*t is still etched on my brain...I'm as worried about the cawps as I am the bad guys because it seems they are co-mingled in many circumstances, lol. My radar will be on defcon 10 for sure. LOL. Do you have any other level? and I think the Defcon levels go the other way, 1 being nuclear annihilation.

DEFCON starts at 5 and when it gets to 1 the world will end. I'm pretty sure we're at 4 now, based on the fat kid's activities in North Korea.

I was out for a walk before and was thinking about your New Orleans trip. If you have the time, go check out Pascal's Manale which is the quintessential NOLA Italian joint. Just checked and they are still there and going strong. They created a NOLA specialty called BBQ shrimp, which is not BBQ'd at all. It's super fresh/huge shrimp cooked in butter and tons of black pepper. Fantastic dish which will cause you to sop up the butter sauce with loaves of their Italian bread. Again, I was there in the 90s. Back then, they had off duty/plain clothed cops out front of the place to make sure there was no trouble. You could see their holstered weapons, which got me to asking management who they were? lol Guess it's a tough part of town, but worth the trip. Also might be mob connected if I remember. pascalsmanale.com

Glad I could help with the recommendations. You will have a blast in NOLA and eat really, really well. Only problem is that it will take a few months to get your cholesterol levels back to sub-frightening levels. Everything contains tons of butter and cream.

Doesn't sound like much but it is the best shit you will ever eat. ![](http://mymansbelly.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/New-Orleans-Barbecue-Shrimp2W.jpg)

They would not let us go home without a trip to their favorite restaurant. Dude, I was completely blown away by the dish. Just incredible taste and freshness of the massive shrimp. Think we ate like 20 loaves of bread with the sauce.
