LOL I only read the first page haha And you forgot the worcestershire sauce. Key ingredient. Also lemon. Doesn't sound like much but it is the best shit you will ever eat. We were taken to Pascal's by some friends who were locals. They would not let us go home without a trip to their favorite restaurant. Dude, I was completely blown away by the dish. Just incredible taste and freshness of the massive shrimp. Think we ate like 20 loaves of bread with the sauce. I'm making it this week. that fuckin sauce omg

Wife is speaking at a conference, I am tagging along. Outside of "go to Bourbon st", any suggestions for a 3 day trip? Never been, huge zydeco/blues fan. Do what all 1st time newbies do (I've never been, but I will one day). Go to Pat O'Briens for a Hurricane. www.patobriens.com/patobriens/default.asp

Also go get a "debris" sandwich at Mother's. Sounds weird but it's incredible. Famous it's called a Ferdi Special. It's a po'boy packed with their renowned baked ham, roast beef, and original debris (bits of meat) with au jus gravy. Definitely a must have.

Watch your back there. There was a nasty attack on tourists. nypost.com/2017/06/26/muggers-violently-attack-tourists-leave-one-in-a-pool-of-blood/It definitely lives up to it's violent reputation in my opinion. My first time there, I went for a long mid-day walk and swung by the French Quarter. On my way back, I noticed I was being followedon the other side of the street. Fucker was just waiting for me to go down a side road so he could mug me. There was no doubt he was trailing me. He stopped every time I did. Finally at one point, a cab dropped off some passengers near me. I went over, smiled and waved at my would-be mugger and got in. And they don't care if it's even a couple of guys because they attack in groups. And drunks leaving the French Quarter are easy prey.

I didnt fly down there so I could spend 3 days on the 'puter. Thanks all for the suggestions...had the BBQ Shrimp at a place called Orleans Grapevine..place was so good we hit it twice. There were so many awesome looking restaurants and bars, that I never even got to hit any of the ones suggested...we just wandered into places as we walked and they were all great. Menas Palace for breakfast..just awesome. Cafe Du Mond looked totally touristy, so we passed on that place. Probably saw 20 different great bands in 3 days just wandering in and out of places. The architecture was unreal and the amount of buildings dating back to the 1700's was amazing. We arrived just after those two Boston kids got attacked and it was all over the news. There was at least 1 arrest and the others were known and being sought. Def. a predator element present at all times, always watching. Perfect storm with all the clueless tourists and alcohol. Sadly, the New Orleans PD in my estimation are totally useless and inactive. I remember from the Katrina days that they were essentially criminals with badges. I spoke to a local trolley driver who actually witnessed a uniformed N.O. cop rob a guy of a customized watch and stroll into Harrahs casino with it. The victim called the La. State Police to bypass the local cawps and they arrested this buffoon in Uniform wearing the guys watch...with the guys name engraved on it. The trolley driver cited numerous times he tried to flag down the cops for various crimes in progress and they wouldnt even leave their cars. he simply ignores them now or asks a fireman for help. Thats fucking sad. I was furious listening to this, as the guy was a real solid, working-class guy who had simply given up. When you see sh*t that bad, it comes from the top. No one is holding anyone accountable. New Orleans is in big trouble if they dont professionalize the force because there are simply too many homeless and thugs lurking about. I remember a kid named Brian Watkins, a tourist...was stabbed and killed in the subway here in NYC when Dinkins was Mayor and crime was off the hook...it was that moment that people woke up and it paved the way for Guiliani who turned things around, empowered the cops and held them accountable...for the first time in decades. I think this headline followed shortly after....NOLA is def. at this point... Other than that...I had a ball walking all over town and made the best of it, so go fuck yourselves.

Glad you had a great trip. Of all the places, wish you had tried Cafe Du Monde. We said it would be crowded, for friggin'....lol (j/k). There is a reason for that: The coffee and beignets. They are not too be missed, even if the joint is jammed. Next time.
