This should be the primary objective of the Jets offseason.
Rex is a fucking dunce and whoever is in favor of bringing him back should lobotomize themselves with a dildo.
It's time to totally clean house from top to bottom.
Throw the bank at Jim Harbaugh and give him full control then do what it takes to draft Marcus Mariota in April.
Designate Mike Iupati as your primary target in FA to shore up the OL, add a CB like Byron Maxwell or Chris Harris, and retain Harvin.
A major, drastic shakeup is what is needed.
Can't stand another year of this total ineptitude on offense.

Unless the 49ers fire him we will have to trade for him. And the bidding starts with a #1. 9ers aren't dumb, they know teams want him even though they want to fire him.

I wouldn't be opposed to bringing back Idzik, but I certainly wouldn't bat an eye if we cleaned house from top to bottom. Mariota may never be a truly elite QB along the lines of Rodgers, Peyton, Brady, Rodgers or Brees...but if he turns out to be a Top 12-15 player at his position for the next 8-10 years...then who's complaining? To me he's more than worth the risk

I'm starting to think we may need OLine help more than QB
And that's saying a lot

I'm starting to think we may need OLine help more than QB And that's saying a lot That's exactly why I said to make Mike Iupati our #1 priority in FA. A 27 year old, pro-bowl LG I wouldn't be opposed to drafting another OL in the 2nd/3rd round either.

We might not need him now, but who will complain about the next Willie Roaf down the road? FTR I still want a WR or QB, but I could understand the pick if we drop out of the top spots.

Peat has a really high upside, but he's still extremely raw. Scherff is an old school, throwback who could potentially play any position along the OL except center. Also comes from a school with a history of producing quality OL. Kick him inside and he could be a Zack Martin-type roadgrader.

QB, 2 OL, a blocking TE, LB's that can actually pass defend, entire secondary....oh and a punter. 3 years top to fix this.

Not only that, but we probably have to trade for a QB or sign a FA if we draft Mariota. At this point you may as well play Simms to see if you bring him back next year, but they'll probably start G-Nope.

The punter situation can easily be fixed, considering that even a Pee Wee league punter would punt better than friggin' Quigley. Bring back Malone!!!! Or at least someone who can consistently BOOM punts past 50 yards....sheesh.

My ideal scenario would be to bring in a talented, young vet like Sam Bradford or Jake Locker to start for a season (or at least the first 6-8 games) while Mariota learns from the bench.

The kid is basically a more polished, refined version of Kaepernick.
I'd take him in a heartbeat
