Unlike 2017, 2018 looks like it has a pretty good tackle class.

Not that I know shit, but I am liking Connor Williams, he may be a better fit at guard in the NFL

I've been saying it all along, lots of good names on the list this year. I really hope the new GM goes QB first and then follows it with 2 tackles back to back and then maybe another QB. Our current tackles pretty much suck and this should be a great year to get a couple of guys.

So I decided to watch the Orlando brown tape.....not a fan. His feet are so slow he'll never be a LT and he plays pussylike for someone so large. Also not good at the second level. He needs to drop some serious weight.

We also need to upgrade the olines depth across the board especially center

We also need to upgrade the olines depth across the board especially center That's what happens when you completely neglect it in the draft. I think Mac has drafted two 5th rounders in three years. Simply inexcusable.

He needs to drop some serious weight. Strictly a RT and I agree, he doesn't have that mean streak in him. I personally love Trey Adams, though I haven't watched a ton of him. But from what I've seen...solid footwork, good functional strength at the point and is supposedly a football junkie. I wouldn't be surprised if he has another really good year and maybe overtakes McGlinchley as the best OT in the draft. My dream scenario right now would be the Jets winding up with Darnold then moving back into the first and walking away with Adams. Maybe play him at RT for a year or two and then transition him to LT. Beachum is a solid stopgap if healthy.

Adams is definitely the hot name out there right now and like yourself I just haven't watched or should I say scrutinized his play. Only problem is if he's that good we'll never get him when we go QB in the first. I'll check out some of his tape this weekend and give a report.

Strictly a RT and I agree, he doesn't have that mean streak in him. To get back to you on Brown I only watched the first half of the tape Maury posted and that was enough. I really wanted to like him because of the size and pedigree but he doesn't have the feet and you can't teach that. Sure, players can improve on it, but it's either there, or it's not.

My notes on McGlinchey:
Good length
needs to get a little bit stronger
fairly athletic, gets a nice drop in his set
pretty good getting to the second level
will lunge at times
does a good job of getting low when he has to and getting under the defenders pads
Does a good job of handling the edge rushers around the arc

Rob, would you agree with my assessment? I usually suck at evaluating OL.

Rob, would you agree with my assessment? I usually suck at evaluating OL. Crazy busy and we have a big fishing trip tomorrow so I'll get back to you on Sunday. I'll also do Trey Adams. In the end it always comes down to their feet.

Watched one tape of Adams and I came away with lots of good and some bad. I need too watch some more tape before coming to an early opinion. What's your thoughts on him maury77 ?
