Thats why I never asked where Rusty Staub got his nickname from. LOL. Any truth to the rumor that his nickname was supposed to be Rusty Trombone? * "(slang, vulgar) The act of performing anilingus whilst reaching in between the legs to administer manual stimulation of the penis." en.wiktionary.org/wiki/rusty_tromboneI dont doubt that was in his repertoire. My brother worked at Shea in the 80's and said Rusty had an "alternative lifestyle" to say the least. That being said, he was also a great philanthropist who raised alot of money for people. Good guy.

Good guy. Yeah, he seemed like a pretty cool dud. Think I actually met him once in my "corporate" days. Is it possible that he owned a steak house or other restaurant? He might have comped us during a fundraising effort.

I think he owned two at one point but I havent heard a thing about either of them in years so they're probably gone. Dont doubt he comped you, either. Hope he is well? Last I heard a couple years ago he had a heart attack on a plane but I've heard nothing since. Hope we dont jinx him and have to post a "Who had Rusty" thread.

Now you gonna make me cry lol Opening chords to that thing are just about as perfect as you can find or play. Leave it to those guys to find a new wrinkle in blues/boogie, making it fresh and fuckin' cool..

Now you gonna make me cry That was awesome. Never heard it before. That record is a masterpiece. Friggin' 1973. Even today, they seem to always play Jesus Left Chicago at their shows. Crowd goes nuts when they hear the opening chords. They are just so amazing at what they do. Phenomenal musicians in their idiom.

Can't believe this thread has not migrated over from either JI or JN. Now the Hampur should really start jumpin'. This guy had to be some legendary drunken nut for John Lennon to think he was crazy!

There are stories about when Lennon broke up with Yoko and went on an endless bender with Nilsson, Keith Moon and Alice Cooper amongst other madmen. The amount of booze they consumed is legendary. Supposedly, Lennon and company would get blasted out of their minds and just step out of speeding cars. lol

I was a Lennon fan, but he was an entitled, nasty drunk during this period and would I have punched his lights out. Ah..Nick Drake...the Borgo "tell", lol.
