There are stories about when Lennon broke up with Yoko and went on an endless bender with Nilsson, Keith Moon and Alice Cooper amongst other madmen. The amount of booze they consumed is legendary. Supposedly, Lennon and company would get blasted out of their minds and just step out of speeding cars. lol The famous one was Lennon getting tossed physically out of the Troubadour after heckling the Smothers brothers. I was a Lennon fan, but he was an entitled, nasty drunk during this period and would I have punched his lights out. Ah..Nick Drake...the Borgo "tell", lol. |

Yeah, Lennon changed so much, especially towards the end. But I can forgive the guy his failings having written just this one gem (amongst so many others). Speaking of forgiveness. Jimmy Page once said that we could forgive Keith Richards for anything for having written the riff to this one. Incredibly funky and rock & roll at the same time. |
