Isn't the point of verifying to weed out the fake IDs?

Making sure they can't get jobs by severely punishing the employers is the easiest way to disinsentivize illegal immigration. You have to make the punishment much worse than paying reasonable wages to legal people. Honestly I don't care if that cuts the margins either. Yet another issue with a minimum wage. |

So... congress doesn't have the balls to fix it and it is absolutely THEIR job. The IRS issues the illegals ID numbers, our FED and state governments provide them free services and even pay for radio and TV ads to attract the illegals but you believe the stop measure should be the employers? Never happen. Companies such as restaurants, small businesses of less than 100 employees do not have the technology available to vet out illegals. God forbid they vet one out and then they are hit with a law suit backed by the ACLU. Sounds great DDNY and I am usually in LOCK STEP with you but it won'r solve a thing. Me? I say let them in , NO benefits for 5 years nothing. No welfare, medicaid etc. But NO politician will sign any bill allowing illegals to be legal without a presidential bill. |
