I heard on the radio that illegals cost each American about $6500/yr. I assume they are taking the total estimate and dividing by total adult Americans. The problem with that is about half of us don't pay federal taxes so I am sure the number is a lot higher for those of us actually at a net loss for taxes-government services.

But, as 60 Minutes II first reported earlier this year, the heroism and sacrifice of non-citizens was barely known — until Lance Cpl. Jose Gutierrez died in battle in Iraq.

He came from Guatemala, and he came to the United States illegally. Correspondent Bob Simon reports.
