Mad props to the kid behind the counter at Subway today for lunch. Ordered a foot long cold cut combo, $5.99. Kid sees my Islanders hat, says “you’re an islanders fan?” I said yeah, expecting some snarky comment. He says they’re looking real good, exciting to watch, Barzal looks awesome, that’s his favorite player. I go to pay, and the cash register guy says ‘whatta ya got?’ and the kid says “two six inch cold cut combos”. Rings up for $4.23 total. it’s a small win, but I’ll take it. and you put the savings in the kid's tip jar, right? right? Handed him a finski and put the $0.77 in the jar. :yes: |

Rough one last night. Up 3-0 going into the third, they showed a stat how Varlamov was at 106 minutes and change of shutout hockey. Minute they noted that, I said oh fuck the jinx is on.
Bright side, they got 1 point. But should have been 2.

I feel like Varlamov loses focus sometimes later in games when he's not being tested. Just a thought.
In other news, Andrew Ladd placed on waivers, with the intent of sending him to Bridgeport for a while. Not NHL healthy yet according to Lou.
