McCain was a RINO (Republican in name only) and was referred to as a "maverick" for frequently introducing legislation with democrats and voting against republicans. What people don't remember is that he was married when he was taken POW. His first wife, a model, was raising their kids when she was left horribly injured after a car accident. He came back and started cheating on her - with now (then?)-wife Cindy, who bankrolled his congressional runs. This ultimately lead to his divorce from Carol. But yeah, upstanding citizen and American hero. I read all this before makes him a scumbag but tons of dudes are scumbags.
