The cawps shut off Market Street to the East bay hoods that were slingin' rock etc. So now those troublemakers take the BART 5 more stops to the mission. I am very nervous about reversing cash bail. Violence shouldn't be met with a citation. Citation? DiBlasio gives em Mets tickets.

I would have to see numbers relating to recidivism of youth criminals after they are adults to think it has any possible benefits.

I guess they feel they can shield more kids from violent crime; until they are "mature" enough. This is the group that has minimal parental guidance; they can't help acting out when put in a group of other youngsters. I have done volunteering, and I had to be ready for this type of disruption, as an assistant. To say they are ignorant is scraping the surface. Maybe scaring kids with proximity to the "big house", maybe these children can appreciate the firm hand of the juvenile justice system. To me, there is nothing worse than being ignorant and illiterate. I lean towards any possible remedy.

If there is a chance to rehabilitate them and their crime wasn't too severe give them the option to join the military or face adult justice. Our society is too coddled as it is.

That word "coddled" signals to me that you aren't interested in this conversation. Let me back off; no offense. This issue is more lit, for me. Thanks for taking a swing. i wouldn't have asked if I didn't respect your intelligence.

They are putting shit head criminal "children" of 18-19 year old in Juvenile DC's instead of jail where they rightfully belong and that's gonna scare them straight? Am I missing something? We're talking about late teens who wanna shove guns in ppl faces, suckerpunch elderly women, roam in packs beating the shit out of random ppl.. right? Or what's this about

Thanks for taking a swing. i wouldn't have asked if I didn't respect your intelligence. What is wrong with the word "coddled"? Everyone needs a safe space, no one understands that equality of opportunity isn't the same as equality of outcome and everyone should just be given everything. Free college, open borders, $15 minimum wage, rent control... If everyone thinks they are entitled to everything and no one tells them no that is coddling. Yes people have hard lives, yes we should do what we can to help people but we shouldn't keep moving the bar and give people an out just because they are under 20. There are repercussions for actions and I said if you could show me that there is any better results from juvenile detention/programs to get people to be productive members of society and stay out of trouble I would consider it I just doubt that an extra 2 years in a system that they have probably been in and out of for their teens would suddenly turn them around when they are 18 or 19.
