so it turns out the el paso shooter is a hard core progressive and the dayton shooter self-identified as a 'leftist' not hearing it on cnn though. huh. 40 killed in south Chicago this weekend. Do you own a gun? Asking for a friend.  I'm beyond pro-2nd Amendment, but think we should adopt Icelands laws on guns, with one exception. There, anyone can own a gun, but it takes a year of safety lessons/training to get one. They see gun ownership as a responsibility rather than a right. My one exception is that, in my opinion, everyone petitioning for ownership should be given an independent, non-government sanctioned psychiatric evaluation. You fail the evaluation, you can petition again in five years. You're on anti-psychotic/anti-depressant medication, you can't even apply. I would fail the psych eval every time. Not because I'm "crazy" (well, depending who you ask...), but I'd fall into the pharma category. And I'm fine with that. Never had a desire to own a gun. I've shot handguns in my younger days, under police supervision, but didn't like it. So yeah, I'm very pro-2nd Amendment for those who want to apply, but it's not for me. I agree, actually. And...I was busting your balls because you seem to know so much about the background of these freaks, lol. |
