Heard Boomer Esiason hinting that Bill Cowher thought the Jets job was a great opporunity. Not sure how I feel about that. Got a kick out of him..20 years ago. Plus, apparently his wife is a HUGE Jet fan. What say the cacophony of dooshbargs? He seems to be in great shape for his age and could take the grind, I guess. Plus, he's actually won something.

^^^ He's younger than BB and Carroll and I'm sure a few other HC's, practically the same age as Reid. He's been on the CBS Sunday show for a while now, so he's been around the game and has surely noticed new coaching trends. Pittsburgh hires coaches for the long haul, guys who know the game and know how to motivate. He'd surely attract coordinators who know how today's game is played and can motivate them, as well as his players. He could find a coordinator and mold him into a leader.
All that said, I'm not sold. He'd want a level of control that JD has. I'd rather JD hire Matt Campbell and let them build the team together.

I’d say it’s 50/50. Re: Dick Vermeil and Joe Gibbs oh and it’s the Jets, so I’d actually give it a less than 10% chance of working out with cowher.

I know we dodged a bullet when McCarthy went elsewhere (though between him and Gase, it was "pick the way you want to die").
But put me in the Cowher camp as he is at least going to be way better than McCarthy.
Someone mentioned Matt Campbell....I have no fucking idea who that person is.
Which means we once again become a Training-Ground for Newbie Head Coaches which is fucking stupid.

Or you could act like a weenie.

According to the article, Cowher is friends with JD so they may work well together. At age 63, I'm not completely sold either but he has a proven track record and understands what a quality run organization should look like, not the disjointed clown show we as Jet fans are currently subjected to. I might throw out there that Cowher may not be there at the end but may be the guy to set the organization on the correct path with JD and bring in someone someone from his coaching tree to finish the job. It's all hypothetical. However, I contend that making random Hampur member the the Jets HC, other than FF2 would have a better record that that goof Gase.

Oooh....A *COLLEGE* team.
It's still going to be a NEWBIE Head Coach so yeah.
I am sick and tired of this franchise being used as a fucking Training Facility for 1st-time Head Coaches.
Facing that prospect(again), I'd rather continue to "act like a weenie", thanks.
(or they could hire Cowher for a fucking change)

The more I think about it, if Cowher wanted to come to the Jets and was on the same page with Douglas or would at least have an open exchange regarding the roster, I'd say go for it. I don't really think Cowher would get back into the game to see himself embarrassed. He may be looking at the upcoming draft picks, a new QB and money to spend in Free Agency. I would think he would attract a quality coaching staff, change the culture of the team and make it fun again.

Been listening to WFAN lately and every talkshow host is acting like it's a foregone conclusion that Trevor Lawrence will be a Jet.
I mean...THERE'S STILL 4 WEEKS LEFT!!
The Jets could "luck" into a win during those 4 weeks and the fucking JAG-offs(not JAGS) may end up with Trevor in the end or something. (do the Jets own a tiebreaker over the Jags or something?)

No, I think the tiebreaker goes to the Jags. I've been hoping their defense will win another one for them to give the Jets a bit of a cushion. I honestly do not see a win on the Jets upcoming schedule. The Sea Monkeys; LA Clams, the Clowns and the Cheaters. Move over Clowns and Lions, 0 - 16 here we come.

Every other Jets coach has so what's one more, right?
At least this time we'd have a Coach everyone has heard of instead of NFL Coach Trainee #16465
