I know Sam's contract is cheap but it doesn't sound like he'd bring much back. I think we're keeping him. JD could sell ice to an eskimo. He's gonna smoke some QB needy team and trade Sam for a haul.

If you listen to sports radio, there is so much talk about how good Sam is. That he had lousy coaches & a shitty team around him. And don’t get me wrong, they’re absolutely right.
But they seem to have become apologists for him. Let’s be honest, it’s not like Sam elevated the play around him. Many say he’s still a good QB and the Jets are wrong to trade him.
He himself, week after week after week, said that he & his teammates had to play better. That the coach put out a good game plan & he &his teammates didn’t execute. I feel bad for Sam because I think the Jets screwed him.
But the reality is that JD scouted Sam every week.
EVERY WEEK!!!
And despite the absurd haul he could have gotten for the second pick, he’s decided to move on.
So let me play devil’s advocate for a second.
Let’s just say the geniuses on radio are right... Sam is still a good QB & the Jets are clueless because they have a good QB and just don’t realize it.
So here is my question...
Where the hell are the other GMs who believe this? Where are the offers? The Jets may yet trade him but there certainly does seem to be a plethora of offers pouring in.

Maybe JD has a better offer from Carolina and it won't be announced until the Jags take Lawrence. I doubt it but who knows. I mean if you wanted Lawrence and traded out before the draft you'd be pretty pissed. Remember, everyone thought Sam was going to Cleveland.

He had a tendency to turn the ball over when he had a good team around him in College. I think that's the thing lurking in the minds of many who are on the fence.

That being said, It's still the Jets and anything is possible. They might go OT at 2, and keep him. I said in another thread, JD is in a pickle. The odds of actually getting the QB pick right is less than the odds of fucking it up. Trade Darnold and pick Fields/Wilson: If Darnold outplays your pick, you're fucked. If any QB you didn't pick outplays your pick you're fucked.

Maybe the talking heads are running out of things to write about or have ridden the mock draft thing into the ground. However, I'm increasingly reading articles that the Jets may have Darnold and Wilson co-exist in the 2021 QB room. This has merits and downfalls by immediately causing a QB controversy depending on which guy throws the 1st interception. Conversely, it allows Darnold a last chance with quality competition breathing down his neck. Darnold possibly elevates his game to where his trade value increases, or dare I say it, Salah flips the switch and be starts to play like the guy the Jets drafted. I'm not sure what keeping both would do for Wilson's psyche and will likely hinder his development as there are only so many first team QB snaps.

Would a black QB have been given the same leash as Darnold? Would they get to blame two coaching staffs and two FOs? Would they still have so many simping for them in the media?
Statistically he is among the worst in the league. We can draft a fourth rounder than can match that performance and not pay them $25 million or whatever the price for bums is gonna be in two years.
Luckily for us we have an exit ramp this draft.

Oh nice. More RACIAL stuff.
We already get enough of this shit from BLM.
Why not bring it into a conversation that has ZERO TO DO with the situation? That's a great idea!

Because the Darnold simps in the media seem to be the same people who believe that sort of stuff so I am wondering why they havent connecting the dots in their own minds yet.

Just because they're fucking idiots, doesn't mean you have to copy them.
I know you're way smarter than that, man.
