There’s definitely a possibility that JD will trade back and try to recoup one of the third round picks that he gave up in the AVT trade.
But I’m going to say he stays put and gets a player with value & need.
These are the players that I think are going to be the most intriguing for a JD with this pick:
Tyson Campbell / CB / Georgia
Azeez Ojulari / Edge / Georgia
Javonte Williams / RB / North Carolina
Teven Jenkins / OT / Oklahoma State
Last night, I was hoping to Jets would jump past Jax & move back into the 1st round & get Etienne. I knew he was a good fit for Jax especially with the Lawrence connection. But what I did fail to remember was that Jacksonville had a late first round pick and they nabbed him at 25.
So after careful consideration, I decided that the Jets would go defense with this pick & go edge or cornerback.
I think CB is the way that they’ll go. There’s a ton of talk about Asante Samuel Jr. being the next CB coming off the board. But I think that Tyson Campbell is the better player.
So with the 2nd pick of the 2nd round, the Jets improve there secondary with Tyson Campbell / CB / Georgia.

Just in addition to my post but I forgot to mention, Campbell is 6’ 1” / 193# & Samuel Jr. is 5’ 10” / 183#.

I've been beating the Teven Jenkins drum so I'll stay with him.
While the idea of accumulating more picks is appealing, I think standing pat and getting another day 1 starter at 34 is big. If Im moving down, its only a few spots.

The Jets could go from one of the worst o-lines in the league to one of the better ones. Isn’t the last time we had a really o-line back when Brick & Mangold were here?

I think he ends up going defense. Most likely would be a CB or maybe an edge like Ossai.

We're not winning the Superbowl this year. Take another OL, protect the investment we just made in the QB, and improve the running game at the same time. How many times did our line just collapse last year at the guard/center position? It was disgusting.
That being said, if JD thinks he can trade back and still pick up another starter I'd be ok with it.

Jenkins ! But one of the LBs in Nick Bolton or JOK could be the pick. We need a starting LB as Cashman can't stay healthy.

You can't have enough O line in my opinion. However, LB and CB are a need on defense and there are quality guys on the board. Pick(s) at #34 2nd Round; #108 and #143 in the 4th Round; #147 and #155 in the 5th Round; and #187 in the 6th Round.

Jax stole my pick! 😡
Never saw the Jets going WR @ 34. But Moore is a playmaker. Great route runner & he’s fast & can turn on a dime. Nice to have a GM that realizes that you need to draft offense too.

Would of preferred to stick with O line but I'll have to rely on Douglas judgement on this one. Added a playmaker. Hopefully, the Jets get some value today with their final 3 picks and don't waste them. I always thought it was stupid when they let Rex have a pick in the late rounds. Not that Rex didn't know football but I would of rather had a serious effort to identify talent instead of just winging it.

Nice to have a GM that realizes that you need to draft offense too. We need playmakers. Haven’t had any in way too many years. This is a solid pick. Mel Kiper had Elijah Moore ranked 16 overall and many were surprised the Giants didn’t take him in the first instead of the WR from Florida so hopefully we got a steal. F it. The offense has been so fucking unbearable boring and just plain incompetent over the last several years that the games have been absolutely unwatchable. This kid brings excitement and hopefully the games can be fun again, even if they don’t win a ton. I also like his answer when he was asked where he ranks among all of the wideouts in this years draft: "Probably [ahead of] all of them," he said.
