Would love to see Spiller here. Combine him with Ivory and have a real 1 - 2 punch that causes problems for a D
. Problem is he's going to get top dollar as the top free agent back available.

Impending free agent C.J. Spiller said he and the Jets "would be a perfect match."
"I’d be foolish not to have those guys on my list," said Spiller. "I had my best years in the league with [new Jets OC Chan Gailey]. So it’d be dumb not to give it serious thought." We agree with Spiller's assessment. The Jets should have an easy call to release Chris Johnson, and if they want to re-invest that money into another speed complement to Chris Ivory, then Spiller would be the perfect fit. Under Gailey in 2012, Spiller totaled 1,703 yards and eight touchdowns on 250 touches.

No he won't. He had a bad year last year and was hurt the year before. He'll probably get between $4-$5 million per year.

Would jump all over that given the opportunity. Ivory/Spiller/Powell/Daryl Richardson sign me up. Agree that he should come reasonably priced. Add in Mike Iupati to aid in the OLine run game for Spiller, draft a high WR to spread out the defense, and Fitzmagic to compete with Geno so that QB isn't a pure shitshow and I'll make sure my boner-pants are freshly ironed and ready for week 1 @ Buffalo.

The fact that Spiller says he'd love to reunite with Gailey is absolutely meaningless. The guy is a free agent and he's wants there to be as much demand for himself as possible. He'll find something positive to say about every situation in the league and try to generate interest. For every team that is interested, his payday rises accordingly.
It happens every year prior to or during free agency. Media reports so and so is interested in the Jets and the message board goes crazy slotting him into the team. The problem is there are a bunch of other cities with their own media reporting the player is interested in their team and those msg boards are saying the same things.
Do I think he'd be a good pickup? I guess so at the right price. But the fact that he says he'd like to be here doesn't increase the probabaility of him coming here at all. I guarantee you he's going to go to the team that offers him the most money.

Spiller will be 28 this summer, I would not expect to see the same player we've seen in the past going forward.

Spiller's tendency to cough up the ball would concern me. Call me a little gun-shy on turnover-prone players. Something must've traumatized me.

If so, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah lolololololololololololololololololololol.

Spiller is an upper echelon talent. Unfortunately he can't stay healthy. He fits our incoming system perfectly. I would definitely be in favor of adding Spiller.
I know a lot of people want Cooper at 6, but if we keep Harvin and add Spiller, we have more than enough weapons in the arsenal. I'd want to go OL or D or QB at 6.

He's been in the league 5 years and has only had 668 carries b/c he didn't play much his rookie year and only played in half the games last year. In comparison DeMarco Murray has almost 1000 carries in 4 years and he's going to get double the rate Spiller does. Fred Jackson is 33 or 34 and he has 1200 carries. Which is low for his age but that's what's kept him in the league so long. Spiller has another good 3 years left in him if he stays healthy.

If you can sign Spiller for similar money that CJ got this year it wouldn't be bad, but regardless you are still going to need to draft a RB this year. It's a great RB class and having a potential backfield of Ivory, Spiller and a kid like Duke Johnson or Buck Allen would be outstanding.
