All things considered if we don't have to trade any picks I think Carr is the logical choice. Decent QB, 32 when the season starts, longer term solution, can configure the contract to allow for cap space to be available when this rookie class is due for new contracts. Either one is better than any QB we've had in my lifetime. My preference is Rodgers bc the ceiling is much higher albeit for a shorter time. I dont care about long-term. Ive seen too many windows slam shut, too many injuries, too many SOJ moments to even think about 3 or 4 years from now. What number do you think Jacoby will be wearing? I want Rodgers too - 2 years and hopefully he rubs off on Zach and he figures it out. Carr is a loser who never won anything. Can’t see him becoming a winner at 33, plus the jets would have to give him like a 5 year contract. Seems like Russell Wilson Broncos deal last year 2.0. No thanks. Rodgers or bust! 😎

They are cutting first rounders after one year, others going to jail, etc. If we have to settle on Carr the 5 years doesnt bother me. His worst year is better than anything we've seen in 20 years. Im pretty confident he wont break. But there is a significant gap between his ceiling and Rodgers. Which is why I prefer Rodgers. I joke about Jacoby Brissett but I think I might prefer him over Jimmy G or Tannehill. Maybe that is just a coping mechanism bc I have resigned to him being the one we end up with.

Rodgers is the sexy pick but I don't get the Carr eye-rolling. The guy has been playing with the worst defenses over the past decade and has the most game winning drives. He immediately makes us a contender.

If it's Carr Zach is probably done. This is Carr's last big contract so I assume he's going going for the most years and biggest guaranteed money. Right now Zach isn't a viable backup. I would think we trade him for what we can get, sign another journeyman vet, and maybe take a project in the 6th or 7th round.
If it's Rodgers they might try and salvage Zach.

I thought Wilson would be untradeable because of his contract but that is not the case. Now you have to gauge if any team has any interest in paying the statistically worst QB in the league the last two years about $4 mil and a draft pick. overthecap.com/player/zach-wilson/9466

If Wilson still sucks under Payton they'll ned another cheap option.
